I think it's great that he's saving the £2 coins for the TV! Given what we've all been guilty of doing in the past (mostly) of bunging it all on credit, it really breaks the cycle so...tis fab in my book. :beer:Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.
Sainsburys Loan: Cleared July 2010
Credit cards: AMEX Airmiles Card: direct debit set to clear balance monthly

He originally wanted to get it on finance because at the moment we're renting a lcd (Stuck in a contract til april) which costs £36 a month and he was arguing that if we got it on finance we'd probably be paying less each month and it would actually be ours but I didn't want us to get anymore debt... so we've comprimised that we're going to save up all the £2 coins until we can afford one and then buy the 'best for less' that we can...

I have just come across this thread and sat and read the whole thing. Sarah you are fantastic! :T It has been so positive and now I want to really get stuck into my debts all the more. Goodluck with Kaitlyn's entrance to our big old world...I shall be glued to this post now so keep going!:j"grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can and the wisdom to know it's me"
Debt at highest £18249
DEBT FREE SINCE APRIL 29TH 2007:T :T :T0 -
1st January 2007..... 21 days to go til our 2nd baby's due date, and the first day of a whole new year and a whole new start.
*ahem* sorry I just thought I should write something poignant and intelligent to start off 2007... lol.
Debt Targets for 2007:
Pay off Mothercare by 31st Jan.
Pay off Citi by 28th Feb.
Pay off Dorothy Perkins by 31st March.
Pay off Barclaycard by 31st May.
Pay off Steve's Citi (and capital one, who we still haven't heard from?) by December 07.
Go back to work in May and be financially stable, even with 2 lots of childcare to pay for.
Save as much money as possible in the 'saving-£2-coins-so-we-can-buy-a-big-posh-tv-that's-bigger-and-better-than-our-friends' fund. (lol.)
To be able to pay off all of our unsecured debt in 2007 we'd need £360.37 a month. Very do-able in my opinion all being well and as long as we're careful with out budgeting/spending. So fingers crossed! Plus if we could get everything except ste's capital one and Citi paid off by May, that means it'd only take £288 a month til the end of the year to be able to pay the last 2 off (and we'd be an extra £79 a month up from paying off the others earlier in the year so should be a doddle really.).
Got a good feeling about 2007.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Not much to report. We have £182.59 now cleared in the debt savings account ready to pay off mothercare when we have enough
Plus I got paid today and it was the right amount.. HURRAH! Feels good knowing that this month we'll be able to pay off another debt and that we won't be struggling like last month.
Also we've only spent £16 out of this weeks £85 'january challenge' budget with only today and tomorrow to account for.. so tonight we're going to treat ourselves to an indian (While we still can! lol!) and will still be on target to save about £40 this week.
We'll be able to pay off mothercare in no time! We do need to book Steve's driving theory test though so will have to sort that out soon before K arrives! EEEEK only just over 2 weeks left til she's due!!!!! Bricking it? Moi?

Quickie update... have added another £2 to the 'big posh tv £2 coins' fund but have spent £21.50 on Steve's driving theory test out of the debt savings, but should be able to replace that with the savings from the weekly budget from the january challenge. Either way Ste needs to do his theory test so it doesn't matter and it's booked for the 24th Jan... 2 days after K's due date!!! Wonder whether she'll be here or not?Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Ah the bladder kicking, I remember it well. My second child was quite small and breach too, and he could kick for Britain let alone England, I swear there are still small foot marks on my bladder.....
I don't know where you have said whether you are breast feeding, and using reusable nappies, bit money savers both I would have thought?
Best of luck with the birth, I am sticking at two, but every now and then I find myself thinking , .......just one more? No no no!I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
