Well, you know how it is - can't let them think you are at their beck and call *all* the time.....

You do seem to catch every cold going, you poor thing! Hope you have a cosy evening planned - just you and Johnny *sigh*

That *would* be so dreamy. My sister used to live in LA and saw him a few times in his bar - The Viper Rooms. She said he's the most beautiful man she's ever seen.....

Hope all's well, other than the cold :)

The cold is being kept at bay with plenty of positive thinking and some cold capsules.....

But the car is dead again  I am getting mightily peed off with it.....bah!

    Oh well....life could be worse!

What are you going to do regarding the car? I know that paying to repair them is often cheaper than replacing, but I know from experience there comes a point when it's false economy.....:(

Hypno, it depends on what is wrong with the car, of course, but you might need to ditch it. When cars start going worng like that it is a money pit and a very upsetting one at that. I had a car, a long time ago now, which stopped regularly. I knew all AA guys in town. ...and was stressed all the time.

I suspect I will start keeping my eyes open.......I need to have something reliable, and at least I am now in a good position to take advantage of a 0% offer if needed, although I was hoping not to have to do that. Still, if I have to, I have to - can't be worrying about it....it would be a far cry from the days of old!

If I can keep my current car limping along until bonus time in May, I will have a little more to put towards it. I would want to buy something no more than a couple of years old, otherwise I will just find myself in the same position as I am now.....I know plenty of people will say there are reliable bargains to be had with some older cars, but I am trying to keep my stress levels down now, and if that means spending more and getting something better, and stress free, then so be it.

    We'll see what happens!

Yep, I was about to open my mouth about the auctions, but as you say, that is a quick fix for a cheaper car, with no comeback. My Dad got us into the auctions and we have had some good deals over the years - and they are not all bangers as is commonly thought. It works well for my Dad as he learnt years ago to fix them himself - purely for MSE reasons when he was a young man and couldn't afford garage prices.

May is not so far away, so your car might behave until then. Talking of which, are you still thinking of going to Rome or do you have other plans now?
