Going slow is fine - it is the amount of time on your feet that is important. Going slow builds strength and fitness, and the speed will follow!

Hey Hypno, I did my 1st walk/run thing for my 10k today. Yippee!!! But I have never run before and I didn't know how to really (know that sounds daft!). Should I look to land flat on my foot or on the balls of my feet first?! I've hurt my hip a bit!

When I started, I read a book called the Non-Runners Marathon Trainer. I didn't train for a marathon, but did pick up alot of good tips from there.

It reckons your feet should "roll" along, in a continuous smooth heel to toe rolling movement (if that makes sense!).

This is also really good. HTH :)

A thanks girls, I know you'd be able to help. Have written my runs into my diary for the next 3 weeks to make sure I do them!

Good luck, souk - I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Mind you, I was shattered last night after my run, and I can certainly feel it this morning. Hoping my coffee perks me up soon as I have a long day ahead of me! I am hoping to go and ski tonight, so looking forward to that.

WI day today and I got on the scales this morning rather than heading out to WW later - 9st 8.5lbs.......it is all still working :D That is a full 6 months now that I have stayed within 3lbs of my goal weight - unheard of in my previous life :D

Moneywise - payday is on Friday, so I am waiting for that - so far, so good however.....I just want to do my "proper" budgets for my new house! That is a lovely job for the weekend :T

Have a good day, everyone, whatever you may be doing xx

Oh, your first budget and first payday in your new house! That *is* exciting! And well done too on staying so close to goal weight for so long, while also enjoying what you eat - thats a real achievement.

I think the weight thing just goes to show that life is good for me right now - I have no hang ups about what I eat, and how I look at the mo.....and I feel good.

That is pretty unheard of for me.....I have always done battle with it, but it is now obvious to me that the food/weight stuff was just a by-product of everything else in my life being a battle.

I don't even get on the scales once a week now - whereas before I was a twice-a-day girl.....it really is a big hurrah for me!

:T Absolutely it's all "body clutter!" It's amazing when you "let go" or release yourself from a situation, guilt, anger etc etc how it starts to disappear. I am reading a book called "Body Clutter" at the moment by Marla Cilley. It makes so much sense and like many things in life quite obvious when you think about it.

Well done you for being in such a good place at the moment. It hasn't just happened, you've made it happen and long may it last xx:T
