I agree too you need me money life can't be a slog all the time but I still bet you do it by the time you are 50 in fact if I was a betting woman I would try and see if someone would take the bet but I bet I wouldn't get very good odds with your debt repayment history

Good stuff Hypno :T :T
All this reminds me - must figure out what our mortgage has left on it (I use the term 'our' very loosely, my name is nowhere near the darn thing and it was taken out when I was, I believe, ten years old :rotfl: :rotfl:). Anyway, only about 4 years left now I thinkSo absolutely no idea whether it's worth bothering paying it off, as far as I know it was one of those interest up front things, so it won't cost any less even if we do pay it off?? But I've never seen any documents so going entirely on idle heresay :rotfl: Must figure it out! :T

I have just done a lungbusting interval session with runchum. Boy it was hard work.....but hopefully one of those a week will pay off on marathon day.
Now.....to collapse. Have a shower and a coffee....and to eat the delicious seafood lasagne that DS has cooked......nom nom nom.
Hope you have all had a good day!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Hey Hypno, I did my 1st walk/run thing for my 10k today. Yippee!!! But I have never run before and I didn't know how to really (know that sounds daft!). Should I look to land flat on my foot or on the balls of my feet first?! I've hurt my hip a bit!'The road to a friends house is never long'0

Urm, I'm not sure - I just do it without paying much attention
I always think I am quite flat footed when I run, but when I go faster, I definitely run differently to when I plod......not much help am I!
All I can say is that you shouldn't try and run too fast - slowly and steadily is the key. And try and keep your run/walk intervals fixed - so when runchum started she did 3 min run, 2 min walk.....then 4 min run, 2 min walk next time, then 3 min run, 1 min walk etc. So she was regulating how long she did each bit for rather than slipping into "I'll just walk for a bit" type mode. She now does 10 min run, 1 min walk, and did 8 miles with me on Sunday which is a huge, and very rapid improvement!
Just do what feels right - it will all settle down over the next few outings!
And huge well dones :T:T:TSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Hypno too fast is NOT a problem for me! My nickname is 'snail'!!!'The road to a friends house is never long'0

You'd be surprised, Souk - most people go off too fast and then wonder why they can't go very far - just ease off a bit, and you will rapidly improve.
It is all relative, remember - "fast" for me is probably a slow jog for Paula Radcliffe!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
I have just started too, was going too fast to start with as well, sounds like good advice to me!
I was barely shuffling towards the end of my first 'run' but kept going all the same (was literally doing a minute running, minute walking, and was then doing a minute 30 walking. towards the end it got easier though (probably because I had slowed down)0
