Could the kids not manage the paper round alarm without you now they're older? Sleep well.

They are both also shattered V, and there is every chance that we would all sleep through alarms today if not careful!! I was fast asleep in bed at 7.30 last night - always take my phone and put it on the bedside table (we got the call about Dad from the hospital in the early hours, so I won't ever NOT be available just in case) - but I was in such a deep sleep that I missed the phone TWICE between 9 and 9.30.......! So there is every chance we would have slept through alarms!

So.......having had some sleep, I have started to plan my day - lots to do, including such exciting things as going to the tip to dispose of the garden table that we broke the glass top of when we moved, making sure washing and ironing is done from the holidays so it doesn't loiter for weeks, heading to the supermarket etc etc etc.....

I have done a meal plan for the week - I am trying to be a bit more adventurous in my cooking this year, and will try one new recipe from one of my lovely cookbooks each week. This week I will be doing something from the Wagamamas cookbook that DS got for Christmas.....I am also trying to cook "properly" more often in general, rather than just whacking something out of the freezer into the oven.....eg too often we have wedges or oven chips, whereas mash is one of my DD's favorites and is generally cheaper too, just needs a little more effort between us!

I am heading out for a short run - just 3 miles or so to make a token effort - mid morning.....there are only 14 weeks or something until the marathon, and with moving etc my running has fallen behind, so have lots to focus on over the next few weeks if I am to catch up and have a good chance of getting round!

Hope you all have a good Sunday, whatever you are planning xx

Hi Hypno, is it worth looking for a glass shop/glaziers, and seeing how much they'd charge for a new top for the table? They could probably do a quote on the phone for a toughened glass top if you have the measurements. It probably depends on how much you like the table and if it's worth the cost of a replacement top though.

    Enjoy your run.

The table was only ever cheap, and has been left out over winter a couple of years, so is a bit rusty in places too - it won't be any great upset to get rid, and to look for a lovely new patio set in the spring to go on my lovely new patio ;)

Today I also want to get the Christmas tree and decorations up in the loft (they were packed away in boxes before we went away, but are still on the landing), and to unpack one bag of coats etc that is also on the landing, thereby creating quite a lot of extra "energy flow space" on our first floor......

And I am going to make my kitchen diner into the space that I want it to be - that means unpacking a couple of boxes and finding some homes for things that have been put there "temporarily" such as a big mirror, and a couple of vases.....

It will all start to look a bit more like "mine" before the end of the day!

And that's the main thing, that you feel comfortable in the space. Have a good day, but take some time to rest, that drive will have taken loads out of you. I once drove to Spain, and it nearly killed me!

Oh believe me, gill, it is mainly pottering type stuff that I plan on doing today - but quite often pottering gets more achieved than those days where I plan to be quite proactive!

And I will include lots of coffee stops and a fair bit of laptop time along the way!

Ohh yes, I'm a fan of pottering, sometimes the most unlikely things get done.

Apart from the 3 mile run (which sounds scary) its sounds like a productive day.

I really should be doing far more than 3 miles.....but for today that will be just fine.

The sun is shining here, so the run will be lovely. will be with runchum so a bit of a catch up as we plod will be good too.

Have made a list of things we really need for the house - essentials like a shower curtain, clothes airer etc.....ooh my shopping list for today is sooo exciting!!

    Morning!
Your day sounds much like mine, pottering, running and putting away deccies :D
I want to do 6 miles, but TOM means maybe 3 will have to do as energy levels are a bit low. So I'll be with you on the virtual run and will pop back to compare notes later.

Ps, I'm loving the "lightness" that's coming off your posts :)
