New luxury car! Any tips

I wonder why you want to do that to yourself if you're worried about being able to afford running a car like that?
You can turn heads in that price range better with other cars. Depends on whose head it is that you are trying to turn, but my head would be more easily turned by a car with a bit of personality than an aging exec-mobile.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I like the X type but it isn't large enough to be a luxury car.
I have looked into the same thing this year and cam to the conclusion that the 300c is nice but not that good on fuel and decided that the best compromise would be an E220cdi Merc, I found lots for about £13k thn found that Addison Lee sell their old chauffeur cars that are 3 years old for between £10 and £11k with full service history. And they don't hide the history in any way, they are mint and at that price very good value.0 -
Volkswagen Scirocco, I think they're more towards £20,000 though.

A LUXURY car, this does rule out some of the suggestions.
Jaguar S type
Various Mercedes
BMW 7 series
Lexus
Audi A6 - seen a few four year old examples with low mileage for around £10K0 -
Hi, I have around £10-13k to spend on a new car.
Any advice here would be greatly appreciated especially with regards to running costs
Thanks
As this is a primarily a moneysavingsite my advice would be forget wanting to turn heads, spend less and feel better. One of the frequent bits of MSE advice is don't waste money on flash cars;);)
Unless of course you are rich in which case why post on MSE.
Serious answer = Don't ask here, you just get personal favourites/hates. Try the independant reviewers, if there is such a thing, for a less biased view:)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -

Sadly the days of the 'head turner' are long gone at this price, because there are so many 'prestige' cars sold.
I'd a couple of 535d's which were amazing, but for waft along pleasure with lots of toys, luxury and comfort it would be an E class merc auto with either the big diesel or big petrol lump - the small diesels - 220cdi etc - dont befit the size and weight of the car0 -

Good cars, not as cheap as people think though, and not in any way prestige.0
