When I did a degree - paid for out of my own earnings (a long time after leaving Grammar school - my wages were needed in the house and no money to send kids to uni those days) I was told if in doubt, just read the preface of your course books and rejig it - that was all the facts examiners would want to hear

Yes, sad to an extent. DS has just got one of his first pieces of work back.... with a good mark and his lecturer's comment that he 'liked some of his points'.
If he hadn't liked them personally, it wouldn't have mattered how well the essay was written, the mark would have been lower.0 -
Exactly treliac. It took me some time to realise that they dont actually want to hear your opinion - lol. A "straight As" student put me right at a summer school. After that it was easy going.0
