I am going to sound even dumber now... but, am I missing something in a previous post relating to this year?

that facebook group is mainly people? Last year a lot of us had set up actual facebook profiles for our elves?

most if the elves stil have facebook pages, the group mentioned is a replacement of last years as the admin left and no-one could alter the group. its a similar to this thread, place for "adults" to share n swap ideas etc.

thats cool about xmas cards, last yr i received 2 from USA, 1 from AUS and loads from uk, the kids thought it great

I LOVE this idea and am going to try and do it this christmas for my 18mth old daughter and 9yr old son. My son does not believe in Father Christmas anymore but would still like to do it just so he can enjoy it and feel the excitement and fun of christmas.

I am torn between a teddy that is very similar to a build a bear teddy, then I would just buy christmassy outfits for the teddy. But thinking maybe a bit babyish for my son.

    Or http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TY-BEANIE-BOPPER-JAZZY-JESSIE-/270833357951?pt=UK_Soft_Toys_Bears&hash=item3f0eed147f

get this doll for my daughter and a boy one for son and make some kind of attempt at making christmas clothes for them.
My children are mixed heritage, im white and hubby black caribbean so would like an elf with hint of colour lol x

    What to do?

if you want the option of the doll type in aurora, they have some really nice ones. last year i got a boy in green trousers n top, to which i added few metal snowflakes.

Thanks, I have decided to go for the doll option as its going to become a tradition so want a long living elf lol haha
I managed to get a blonde haired ty rag doll for £1.20 on ebay and am just bidding on a boy ty doll which finishes tonight. Both of them are not a bit christmassy so will have to try and be creative with some felt or fleece haha x ooh am excited now woohoo!

Good luck finding a multicultural elf!! Perhaps you could stain it a bit with tea!!??!!

If you want to try getting your 9 y/o to believe again, maybe you could join in with the xmas card swapping to spike his curiousity!!

  • hey i have llowed this thread for a while but ive never posted. I have finally decided on a name for our first elf. Jingles jollysox and have added his name to the card swap. He is a ragdll from amazon from the puppet co very like the aurora doll but having to make his outfit more elfy lol im a childminder so he will keep my two kids 5years and 3 months\plus all othrrs amused i hope. I will be using it like an advent each day kids will need to find him and he'll have been up to mischief ie fishing in the loo etc but he'll also have a clue of where elf has hidden kids trests everything from panto tickets to pictures to colour will put full list up when better organised. Realoy looking forward to this yr. Off to turn build a bear box into gingerbreaad house for elf to arrive in .hope your all well x x

    Hello All!

I can't believe its nearly Elf time again :) I really can't wait as we had so much fun with this last year and last night while we were having tea the kids started talking about them too, asking if I think they will come again cause they loved them aahhh !! :j

We staretd last year with one Elf - Patch Jingles and then because they kids loved him so much ordered a last minute sister for him Honey Bee jingles who arrived after school one night to check on her little brother! I think I'll have them both arriving on the 1st though this year! I've been buying crafty things when I see then and got some chiristmas fairy cake mix from home bargains the other day for 89p !

I am definately going to have a list of Elf activities for each night this year too as it gets a bit manic when you realise you havent orgainised anything just before you go to bed lol

Yummymummyamy - Is it possible to have a passport made for Honey Bee Jingles like you made for Patch last year please - they are so Fab and make it all the more real :)

Adding my elves the christmas card lists too as the kids loved this last year!

    Happy Organising everyone!
  • please can i ask that anyone NOT listed on the 1st page please just add your elf name to a post so its easier for me to find and then add. also if elf has facebook can you put that next to it. there are quite a few elves not on the list, but there are so many posts to go through to try and find i will be here all day. x
