Hello! can we join in? Have just ordered http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/14-Aurora-Rag-Doll-XMAS-ELF-BOY-CHRISTMAS-Soft-Toy-NEW-/290612049253?pt=UK_Soft_Toys_Bears&hash=item43a9d3f565 for my 7 and (will be) 5 year old kids. He can be a real little bu*ger in our house and get up to all sorts of mischief. He will arrive with tickets for the Panto as well as a " can I stay present"! I am soooo excited about Xmas this year and am even making the kids sock monkeys for their Xmas Eve Hamper!!
Having just spent this money....I am right in thinking Santa sends the same one to stay each year?!!?
Thankyou for the inspiration.
xx
hi and welcome,
i told my boys after the 1st year that if they wanted bertie (our elf) to come again another year they would have to be good and then write and ask santa for him by name!!! not sure how everyone else has done this.
we have however added 2 new elves (berties best friend jingle-jangle and an elf in training last year and this) AND this year i have got a 4th elf as well - she "works in the book shop and library" and can send us any old books during next year!due to spilling coffee :coffee: on my keyboard it works when it wants to :rotfl:

Thats a relief...had visions of having to get a new one every year and having a boxful of sad looking elves in the loft every Crimbo!!“Listen earnestly to anything your children want to tell you, no matter what. If you don't listen eagerly to the little stuff when they are little, they won't tell you the big stuff when they are big, because to them all of it has always been big stuff.”0

Just 'generated' a name for my new Elf (our original Elf has got married!) and her name is Daffy Sparkley-toes!! So we have Sunny Sparkley-toes and Daffy!Gifts of time and love are surely the basic ingredients of a truly merry Christmas."

Hope the link works! It's the website I used years ago for our first Elf. I typed in my little boys name to get the Elfs name, then for his wife I used my name to make sure I got an 'Elf' name with the same surname (does that make sense?! lol)
Hope that helps! :TGifts of time and love are surely the basic ingredients of a truly merry Christmas."

hahahahahaha, one elf will lead to another and another and another.... I have quite a few now. (it's totally out of control really) we have two "main" elves and then the rest randomly show up to visit them.

Anyone got a knitting pattern for elf at all? I am wanting to introduce the elf to my little ones school this year, however, money is very tight so wondered how this could be done very cheaply!!!
Any help gratefully received!

Thank you Gleek - that is great! I will have a look if there are any more, as it would be nice for him to have a mate!!!! They can get up to so much more mischief when egged on by each other!!!
