The kids have been incredibly naughty today and tonight JJ Jingles is putting a lump of coal in each of their stockings to remind them that it could be their present for Christmas if they aren't better.

my kids stockings dont go up til they go bed xmas eve OR they would be getting a lump of something in it (stone) as have been really bad today. BUT i just sent them bed at 6:30pm! thing is they ARE asleep!

  • Mine were sent to bed at 7pm but I can still hear the 8 year old talking and snapping his fingers to keep himself awake. It's been such a long day I think I'm ready for bed too. :(
  • well i have hurt and bruised all my arm doing tonights activity, i hope the kids appreciate it!

earlier today i helped them build a 4ft snowman in the front garden (couldnt do it in back as not cleaned up patio from dogs!) anyway, some nasty little sod decided to kick it in the head and the head came off and broke.......... the 5yr old was really upset as we had worked hard on it.

    SO...........

..............the elves (me and OH), managed to get the body which is as wide as front door and half way up it in height, onto the sledge, through the house (30ft long hallway) and out the backdoor into the back garden! where the elves (i) then tried to re-make said snowmans head, apart from the snow now has frozen so wouldnt stick very well, it has a head of sorts. complete with hat and scarf from front!

the kids had to help me push the body back from down thw street as it was sooooo heavy/hard to move so i'm sure they wont question that the elves moved it by magic!!! it wasnt until i had sat back down with a cuppa that it dawned on me i should have taken a pic of them with it on sledge...... NOT bringing it back in to get 1! LOL!

  • The kids weren't upset about getting the coal and told JJ Jingles they were sorry and trying to be good. We also had a really nice day today riding around in the car with the reindeer antlers on and taking JJ out and about with us as we looked at Christmas lights. All in all a very nice day and it made us all feel better. Tonight JJ is going to have a hangover.:p
  • Well tonight is JJ Jingles last night and I think we all are sorry to see him go. It has really made our month of December feel really magical and left us with lasting memories too. My daughter has even packed him a special treat bag for the ride home bless her. Tonight he is going to put Christmas wrapping paper over the opening of the doorway downstairs so they will have to burst through it to get to their Christmas presents.:D

Also he has left a few presents with one of Father Christmas' best friend who happens to be their Grandad since we go see him Christmas Day and wanted to include him too.

I will also in the first week of January be completing a scrapebook for them which will be sent from JJ with pictures they know nothing about of all the activities he has done.:T

Both my ds and dd were upset as well and I just had a look at his elf journal and found my son had written a question asking him to stay forever and nearly cried myself.

I told them that he would visit them very soon, and for me personally I really don't want him to stay as they will lose interest in him eventually and tomorrow is such a big day for them they will forget and be far more interested in their toys and remember the happy memories they had with their elf. Maybe you could allow him to go to sleep with her to calm her down and take him away later? Hope she's all right!
  • well as a parting gift the elves wrapped up the lounge doorway, kids thought it was great. they did asy today they hoped they hd a good day today at north pole.

can you not get a mini elf that she could keep all year? not sure where you would get 1 though.
