hi,
after the double duvet covers went so high on ebay, i decided to "decorate a plain 1" and make my own xmas duvet cover. the cover nor the bits have arrived yet, BUT i got a red/white duvet cover, an iron-on patch that says "ELF MADE" with pic of elf, 2x red sparkly iron-on patches that say "merry chrismas" and some red/white ribbon with xmas baubles on. HOPEFULLY the bits will be here and i can get it done for this yr but if not i have a yr to get it made!!!due to spilling coffee :coffee: on my keyboard it works when it wants to :rotfl:

Thanks to everyone on this thread.
I read about Christmas Elves a couple of weeks ago on here, within two days i had convinced my OH it was a good Idea and had 'adopted' Rudi Gingerbread off ebay.
The night she arrived my husband set to making her passport, complete with hologram overlay on the photo (glitter glue stamped over the top) and passport declaration signed by santa - i have to say for someone who mocked the idea he got very in to creating her passport and is now making Rudi's notepad, scrapbook (for the littlies to log the elf activities) all branded with his own North Pole design.
I have made her a sleeping bag, pillow and photo album.
We are going to Centre Parcs in 2 weeks so she is going to make her appearance the morning after they have visited Santa with her introductory letter.
i have arranged for her to go into my DD1 and DD2 classes (Nursery and Reception) and have sneaky photo's taken which she will produce at a later date to prove she has been keeping an eye on them as well as playing!
I'm sorry its a bit long winded but thanks to everyone on here we are so excited.0 -

Have been MEGA elf shopping today as I have been getting behind with preparations due to new Puppy who has been settling in........anyway I broke away for my first shopping trip without kids in 6 weeks!!!!
I purchased:
Xmas craft from wilkos....photoframes, stockings, christmas card, mosaic pics, ..what a selection although selling out fast!
Santa wall stickers from wilkos so elves can create Xmas mural on wall in kitchen.....which we can be very cross about naturally
Xmas pudding dog toy from wilkos (for puppy!)
Cheesy Xmas tie for oh (that he will HAVE to wear to work and the elves bought it for him!) from Poundland
Toilet seat cover from poundland.
Elf hats with big ears from Poundland.0 -
Really looking forward to doing this again this year. Jingle Stripeylegs is a rather naughty reindeer who did lots of droppings (chocolate raisins) last year which DS (now almost 5) and DD (now 2.5) thought was brilliant.
I have bought a couple of Santa hats for £1 each from The Entertainer and a few more bits and bobs for him to appear with.
Looking forward to reading everyone's plans and ideas0 -
Hi
The cut off for the card list is this Friday.
What I will do is post the final list (MSE user names and elf names) on here sometime on Friday evening... I am away for the day on Saturday visiting OH's family, so will make any corrections and send everyone the final list with addresses on Sunday evening.
This gives a good 48 hours for you all to let me know of any amendments etc.0 -
Hi all
Thought i'd introduce myself, my cousin told me about this tradition and we've both decided to do it this year, i have to say H and i are stupidly excited about it lol.
We have Rudy Cracker-Snap visiting us this year! We did all the name generators but didnt like the outcomes so decided his last name should reflect his job at the north pole - chief cracker snap tester, and his first name was just a christmassy onetook ages to find an elf and we got a personalised passport off ebay. I've got lots of bits and pieces ready for his visit so now i just need to set a daily plan of action. :j i think my 3 year old will be very excited but not sure he twins will be that fussed as they're only a year old next week!
I'll keep checking back for ideas of mischief and adding any i think of0
