Good morning all,
Working a long day today with 4 kids coming and going at various stages, as well as my own after school. OFSTED still havn't turned up for their inspection, I know it needs to be on their terms so as to catch me in a normal day but honestly - do I really need to be staying in just in case!!! grrrrr rant over!
Little one is currently asleep, we've made some fairy cakes this morning and she helped me measure out my bits for bread...she kept walking into the kitchen and sniffing the air...yummy bread - bless.
Got a load of washing out on the line and DH hoovered all through this morning - DD's unloaded the dishwasher before school and everywhere is looking tidy (for now). Chicken curry in the fridge for tonights tea, DD's are having tuna and veggi cous cous.....
Really need to crack on with the ironing tonight but not sure i'll feel in the mood after a busy afternoon, DH said he'd do some at some stage after I complained that I worked more hours than him last week and still ran the house....think there's a smidgen of guilt!
Anyway - hope you all have a wonderful day."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
morning everyone and hugs to those who are ill. I have caught a cold, though god knows how havent seen anyone in over a week! Must have been the postie lol.
I intend to do nothing today as feeling sorry for myself. Got some dishes and washing to do but that can wait til tomorrow i have some maltesers in the fridge so a day of baths, chocolate and tv for me.
tomorrow i really will need to do some cleaning.
I have applied to be a part time library assistant as think that I could cope with that(I'm slightly agoraphobic and suffer from panic disorder) but a library will be quiet and not crowded or anything. It pays just enough to cover my bills so will have to be a proper OS if i get it but at least it will be more money than sick pay.
Anyway off to have a browse on here then going to read in the bath. Have a good day everyone. :rolleyes:0 -
Afternoon all!
Ive been making newspaper pots for the greenhouse this morning.Roll half a sheet round a hairspray tin and glue, then slide off and cut into 4.Fill a seed tray with them then fill them with soil. This afternoon I've got to sow something in them .
DD does her Chinese after lunch.Obviously I am not teaching her ,she is doing it from an audio course and is getting quite good. Then she'll do cookery of some kind.Im still digging away down the veg patch and will have another bed sown with green manure by this evening. We ate 3 whole radishes today although the slugs have had most of them.We must have the best fed slugs in Kent.
I hope all those with colds are pampering themselves or being pampered and get better quickly!0 -

cant believe this is the first time ive got on today!!
hugs to all that need them....sorry to hear so many are ill.
wow to those of you home schooling.....i really cant imagine having that much patience

having a lazy afternoon as friend and her daughter coming around but have a date with a huuuugggeeeeee ironing pile tonight and will wash up dishes before i go to bed as i hate waking up to them
all excited as i have just ordered my yogurt maker from lakeland....and even better as its my birthday on tuesday my mum and dad are paying for it as my present :j0 -
Afternoon All
Well washing all done and driedFeel like cr*p but am going to have to ride with it, as the other meds im on and my stomach wont allow me to take any flu remedies...not even lemon...honeys ok though...any suggestions??
OH and I watched the first half of Schindlers list today-have wanted to watch for the past 10 years but never seemed the right time place etc. My mum bought me the anniversary edition and must admit that so far its brilliant. Cant believe people were treated so badly just because of religon  It is a very disturbing film though and will hopefully watch the other half in next couple of days.
As pizza turned out so well the other day, OH has put more dough in the BM and looks like him and DD are having it again  still half a mozarella ball in the fridge that needs using-so in theory it is a free meal as I have all the ingrediants in the cupboardIm not sure what Im having but need something more substantial than pizza. Maybe fish, or jacket spud, ham/cheese and colesalw...will choose later.
Received my £4 of birdeye vouchers this morning as I sent an email to them about the pie my OH had the other day. 3 pieces of chicken in a pie  No reply from either Asda or Tesco for their terrible service this week. So will keep sending pestering emails till I receive a reply!! Im getting good as this moaning thing..lol. Also received a £4 voucher book for completing a survey the other day
Will catch up later if not tomorrow.

I watched Schindler's List for the first time about 6 months ago. Excellent film and i can see why it won so many awards but it also makes for very harrowing viewing
I wouldn't recommend anyone to watch it if they're feeling depressed or generally teary as it is very upsetting.
Talking of films, I watched East is East the other night for the first time too, was on one of the tv channels, and it's a brilliant film! Had me in absolute stitches at some of the scenes, and even funnier is that it's set in the 70's and I couldn't help but think of some of the threads here on OS while watching :rotfl:
Anyway, not much doing today - had a rough night's sleep and woke up around 3am but managed to get a couple more hours in after DS had gone to school. Done the washing up, which had slowly piled up over the last couple of days, even though I've not really cooked anything and we had fish n chips last night  so kitchen is all clean and tidy again. Had a yummy fish finger sarnie for lunch (one of my comfort food things) and have decided we're having egg and chips for tea (thanks elona!) so no effort ivolved in making that!
Just found out last night that DS is doing cooking again this term, when he handed me his list of cooking lessons, and his first is tomorrow - flapjacks! Thankfully I've already got everything he needs in so I'll let him weigh it all out and get it together later on. Next week is pizza and they've been told to bring in a ready-made pizza base!!! - well if they think I'm buying a shop bought one they can think again and we'll make one LOL! Grrrr I really hate it when he does cooking at school as they don't do it properly!!! (think I had a rant about this last term didn't I:o )
Think I'm just going to have a lazy hour or so and sit here on the PC
Catch you all later "An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

C_Q - you do have to wonder the point of teaching kids cooking these days if they can't do it properly. I suppose it is a start and may spark an interest that might otherwise lie dormant........r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0
