yep this has happened to us a couple of times now, just call the number that is on the back of your card (top left )you just go through the options and then you wil get put through to someone at their fraud department,,its a shock when this happens, but at least they try to nip it in the bud when suspicious activities are noticed,,be prepared to go through all the times and places you have used your card over the previous weeks,,,,anyway good luck0

i has same thing months bank from another bank i'm with, had person on the line asking all my details said how did i know who they where?
they agreed with me said phone up the bank normal telephone banking number and ask to be connected to the fraud dept, which they did and sorted out the issue.
I would suggest anyone who gets a call like this from any bank phones back in this way and will therefore stop any scammers getting your details as well as this could be turned into a scam very easily unless you are careful yourself!0 -

That's what I did with First Direct when I'd just set up a new account with them and they were ringing to confirm dd details. Better to be safe than sorry!
OH got it all sorted. He went through the automated process and confirmed all transactions were ok. Seems to have been the Apple purchase that triggered it.
Thanks everyone for your helpWealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
Had texts, ansafone messages on both house & mobile. Looked up alternative no. on 'say no to 0870' Rang the freefone no. 0800174635. DONT choose any options & wait for sales team 2 ask u security ?'s so have statement near by. WELL DONE SANTANDER there was suspicious activity! They blocked it so it didn't show up on on-line banking wen we checked. One of those small amounts 2 get their foot in the door so 2 speak. £1.75 for now an American transaction called Grand Caribb!!! Once that's cleared they can clean u out, or even £1.75 off every customer could soon add up. Card has been blocked & new one issued. Only annoying thing is they keep asking u 2 fone an 0845 no. which immediately makes u think its a scam. U're told not 2 fone no.s that these calls ask u 2 fone. Always try the 'Say No To 0870' & look for an alternative local or freefone no. Also annoys me how they can never trace the banks these amounts get paid into! I got scammed on-line shopping with M&S xmas agreed 2 their T&C's but it was a pop up!!! Lloyds blocked any further payments but not very helpful as were M&S & am now fighting for money back with visa. Shame they couldn't b as vigilant as Santander especially as they were also well known scammers 😡. Excuse the long message, b careful out there 😅 x0

If a caller gives you the 'phone number to ring check it yourself online before ringing. If they are fraudsters they will give you a number that takes you straight back to them!0

I have had two calls today from them, I have hung up both times as I do not have an account with Santander and I'm also ex directory! So I'm thinking its a scam!!!0

Hi, we move threads if we think they’ll get more help elsewhere (please read the forum rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board. If you have any questions about this policy please email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.
I’ve moved your thread from the ‘I wanna’ board to the ‘Praise, Vent & Warnings’ board, where it is better suited.
