I like that idea of blacking out the background Diable, but I've never tried it. Looking at yours I can see how you've done it so I'll have to give it a try. Is it not very time consuming tho?

Oh lord - am I last again?! :eek::D

Here we go then.......This Is My.......Cat. She would prefer to be addressed as "Your Ladyship" or even better "Royal Highness", and thinks that she owns us, rather than the other way round. She's looking slightly startled here due to just having landed in some snow....cue a hasty retreat back to the relative warmth of the balcony. She's not really keen on having her photo taken but every now and then I am permitted to stage a short portrait sitting!



Diable & Contemplates - loving your baubles! Pippi - Einstein is a handsome chap, nice of him to stand at least almost still for you! Muffin you are very welcome to join us - I will add you to the list at the beginning of the thread! Pooky - your picture makes me go "Brrr!" - you can *feel* the cold from it - an the birds walking on the ice leave you under no illusion how cold it was! :eek: Jellie - hurry up and get some pics up!!! Oh, and LT - put your camera in your bag girlie!!

i will take my camera with me, but as i've said before i've got to be careful around work or i'll end up in trouble.

OK then....time for the last challenge of 2010, and in the light of the season, there is only one choice. Get your 70's gear on and think Slade.....

...."It's Chriiiiiiiiiiiiiiistmas!"

I suggest we close this one off on around the 3rd/4th January. As this is another longer challenge feel free to stick some other shots up in the meantime - either seasonal or just something you've taken at some point and like!

Can't even do much on the way there or back at the moment because of the short days I guess. I get very fed up in the winter.

I will tell her Ladyship that she is being admired! She's a sweetie, but currently driving us barmy as she's bored through being stuck indoors! She also gets very fed up in the winter!

EH you have captured Miss Regals eyes perfectly! They are so pin sharp and detailed! You must've been super quick with the shutter release to get that one? Plus it's great the way you have got her looking into the lens. LT i sooo want/need a holiday now after looking at your shots. They look so inviting and exotic! The way you have composed the second shot, the beach just draws you into the photo. I want to be there right now!

Ah...the looking almost right at me thing was the result of lots of clicking and miaowing noises at her, and the ISO was set to 1000 to get the shutter fast enough! There is the beauty of digital cameras though! Thanks for the comments Contemplates - much appreciated!

LT - gorgeous beaches! Pippi will like those shots when she sees them I'm sure.

I think these few weeks is a good time to drag out some of our favourite shots to share as well, if everyone agrees? The shot for the "It's Christmas!" theme should be one taken specially for it I reckon, but other than that it would be nice to see what, photographically, makes everyone tick.

For the last few years I have taken a lot of photos at speedway, and the one below was taken at my local track Rye House a few years ago when I was their regular photographer for a season. I got the timing on this one spot on, and with young Rob's fringed racesuit, I like the feel of movement in it.

that's an amazing photo EH.

I hate to say it but the beach shots are flukey in that they are so nice. I'm still leaning to do anything other than point and shoot.
