George_Bray wrote:I'm surprised at your response to my previous message. This website is about value for money isn't it? Some people don't like discussing money. If that's you, why are you here? I'm not whining. I'm asking a serious question about the huge price increase in fireworks over the past few years. If you don't know the answer, why not keep quiet? It's simply not true that 'nearly every product you buy has a hugely inflated price'. Many, many Chinese imports remain an absolute bargain, e.g DVD players for £20 and thousands of other examples. So why should a single firework cost £40? I'm not mistaken. Less than 10 years ago, a firework like that would have cost nearer £5.99 or £6.99. Does anyone know the reason, please?
Regards
George
Yes, prices have gone up in recent years, but not by that much. If anything, fireworks are cheaper in comparison now what with the influx of Eastern imports from Asia. Yes the website is about value for money, but the prices of fireworks today are just that, whether you like it or not. I really dont believe that a firework that costs £40 today, was only £6.99 less than 10 years ago.
Sorry if i offended you, and sorry for the tone i took with you. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree loljinkssick wrote:To be honest theyre isnt a place better than Lidl's. Not only have I experienced them, but they are reliable and cheap. This year I spent £30. Thats a one off payment for me.
Beware of all these "bargain discounts" you see. They're not always the case! For example Lidl sell a "Benstar" cake "Rainbow Storm" at £6.99 from an RRP of "£13.99". However, EXACTLY the same firework, with a different label "Colour Blitz", is sold at an RRP of £6.99 under the Cosmic Brand name.0 -
A similar question has been asked in the morrisons firework thread, but can someone who's used the lidl fireworks post a little about the kind of space needed? I have a fairly small garden (10-15M from the back door to my garage) are the rainbow storm and black nebular fireworks too powerful for my garden (I was kind of thinking about having people behind the french doors etc?) Should I stick to the less powerful purple moon???
It's my first time running a display (we've recently moved and there's no easy to get to public display any more...) and I'd like to avoid setting someone \ something on fire...

Just one quick question
How do you pay them if you buy online and want them delivered?0 -
pt2006 wrote:Thanks,
Have ordered around £130 worth, wonder how much delivery will cost!
Well, they just quoted me for £23 for delivery on 10 packets of the mini rockets! so im guessing yours will be more, unless its just a set price for delivery. I wont be bothering lol delivery cost was more than the fireworks in my case.0 -
25 Meters to be 'safe' and less to be in danger I would guess. I didn't notice until after I purchased the 25metre rule. Might have to go set these off in the street to be far enough away ;- )Tim0

I'm still waiting for them to ring me, I don't mind paying £23 as i got about £300 worth for £130 so would be a good saving in all0 -
The delivery cost of fireworks is always high unfortunately. I've yet to see any website that will deliver them for under £15-20, it's because they have to use specific couriers who are insured to carry explosives/dangerous goods.0
