apart from latiffs is there any other stores?

is there a website/forum that give review scores for fireworks brands? i dont want to buy a low quality brand.

what about the 'tnt' brand from lidl. are they any good?

There is a website called UKFR which was "United Kingdom Fireworks Review" but they don't review stuff no more. most of their reviews were of stuff from their sponsors demo nights.

I have not been to any other shops near birmingham.

tnt is ok, but not much choice if you go to lild.
  • Hi!

If anyone gets hold of the Lidl leaflet could you upload a copy? TNT is a new brand for Lidl this year so I'd be interested to see what they're offering and what kind of prices they are.

    Thanks!

    Regards

The sale of fireworks should be banned.

The only safe firework is the one left at the shop.

    No problems with organised displays!

HOW WRONG YOU ARE Gazfaz, because if you ban the retail sales and/or private use of fireworks, in stopping it not only do you ban the legal trade of safe regulated BS7114 compliant importer/distributor fireworks, but you also open up the floodgates to unregulated and possibly potentially lethal dangerous even deadly unknown origin import fireworks sold to the general public by criminal gangs and blackmarketeers whose safety quality and reliability is suspect so-so and dodgy in that these rogue unsafe import fireworks could easily kill injure maim and even seriously damage the persons lighting them and indeed even the people watching them, and by banning them you also encourage the likelihood of idiots who will try and home make their own fireworks. Is that worth the risk at all from a sale and use ban? I don't think so! BS7114 compliant retail indoor/garden and display fireworks are made to strict standards for weight/powder/composition/performance/construction and safety and feature limits for debris/fallout etc. Also in the face of a ban you will also get idiots who WILL try to make to make their own homemade fireworks out of household substances with devastating explosions/housefires and consequences. Generally if the instructions/directions on BS7114 compliant fireworks, their packets and boxes are followed then these don't pose NO threat or danger to anybody. The Govt and safety bodies fear what would happen thru a sale/use ban on BS7114 retail fireworks and have NO wish to impose a ban either. Organised displays are overpriced for entry food etc and are overcrowded with a poor view of the fireworks, disorderly behaviour by gangs of youths, short sharp 5min displays and general unpleasantness, horrible muddy fields, bans on private sparklers by overzealous h&s guff and stewards/jobsworths etc, whereas a private display organised properly is better and safer if things are done right and can be more enjoyable. I don't think the right to enjoy fireworks at home with friends and family responsibly and safely or at a private bonfire party should be taken away at all from the sensible majority.
