    Morning all

Like most it is a wet and grey day here. DS3 off school with a cold and cough but I still had to walk to school to take my friend's boy who I mind every morning before school.

I was awake about 2-ish too :o DD has been making a papier mache head (over a balloon) and we left it drying on the Rayburn. I dreamt that the balloon had expanded so much it had burst  Luckily it's fine :) She'll be creating a head later in the week.

That made me smile, I'm not sure if you were on the thread when DS3 was making a lifesize head of DH whilst he was away once.

Toots is Toottifruities - the one with the avatar

The other one is still usually toots but there are a couple of other people who can sign on with that user too (asbo can and soappie can) for when Toots can't be here with us

    FCC - flylady central control
    Black Dog - depression

I'm starting with a HHC mainly in the kitchen then I'll check on DS3 who is reading in bed.

Morning campers, I've given in I'm afraid and have put my heating on low downstairs. Luckily we've got two radiators either end of the living room and they can be on number 2 each and still chuck enough heat out to heat the living room :) I woke up this morning to a gale blowing through the bedroom window, leaves and gawd knows what else blowing down the road outside and horrible horrible rain battering against the window..ugh!! I think winter/autumn has arrived..lol. And when I went downstairs it was 15 deg in the living room, that positively artic..well not quite that cold but it felt like the artic..lol

And if those birds outside think I am going out there in the rain to pop food on their feeders they can think again. I shall nip out there in a break in the rain.. Besides they won't come out while it's raining, well not unless your a wood pigeon - they come out rain or sun :)

I've had to move my mouse thingy in the kitchen, where we had it doesn't seem to be working as I went into the crisp cupboard yesterday and voila!! Mousey had been having a feast..he must have thought it was christmas - noodles in packets, crisps in packets. Silly me hadn't put these in tupperwares, mainly because I hadn't seen mousey all summer. But now it is getting cold he has popped back indoors by the looks of it.. Not sure why Bear didn't notice, he does when he seems him outside but wasn't that bothered indoors..hmm Oh and do tell me why I have cats when they don't know what a mouse is..lol

Had a bit of a funny week last week, I got caught up on FB but that was because I had got a bit of bad news during the week . Daves Aunt, who is also his godmother and who I have become really close to since knowing her for 25yrs, was rushed into hospital the last weekend and put into ICU. She was really very ill, hadn't been eating only drinking water for a couple of weeks and was in considerable pain and looked dangerously ill. She was then diagnosed with Bowel cancer :( She has had an operation to remove her bowel, is still in hospital and is refusing to see anyone including her sister my MIL. Which is even worse as my MIL, who thought she was only seeing the consultant for a check up on her bowel problems, was given the same diagnosis - Bowel cancer  I can't believe that two people have been diagnosed with it within the same week, especially sisters. Thankfully MIL's is in the early stages and she only needs a course of chemo, not so lucky for the aunt. We aren't sure what her prognosis is, all we know she has to have 6 months of chemo and also radiotherapy. So as you can imagine I have been trying to keep it strong for Dave and MIL when she rings me every night.

I have been doing my usual, spend spend - that makes it better! Err no it doesn't it just increases Dh's credit card. So I am now on a ban, and have made a committment to get the credit card down to £200 from £1600 by Christmas next year. He has given me an incentive of, if I reduce it to the amount we agreed then he will buy me a pink KitchenAid mixer for next Christmas :)

Anyway enough of that horrible morbid stuff, am watching the lovely Rav Wilding on Rememberance Week on BBC1 at the moment. I didn't realise he was an ex paratrooper as well as an ex local policeman to us.. I knew he was a local lad but wow he has done a lot.. Bless him.

I am feeling more empathy this year during Rememberance week, I think it's because I found out I had a relative that died while on active duty during WWII. Before this year I always thought the relatives I knew about had survived the war, only found out when I visited the Imperial War Museum earlier this year. I know where he is buried, as he is local to me so will try and get over to the grave and lay some flowers this week. Some may think it's hypocritical but I honestly didn't know someone of my family, who had lived up the road from me, died in the war. Just another link to the family I knew nothing about, apart from the fragments Mum told me when I was young.

Hugs and love to everyone, especially
Toots, Diva and the lovely LL:A

  • Hello everyone

Was a bad girl last week and did no flying to speak of - I just worked solidly on my research post: busy time at the moment, as we are just about to launch some trials, so all very exciting, but....

Today I decided to do the Sitting Room. So full marks to Piggers for anticipating my every move! And thanks, as ever, for all of you at FCC: much appreciated xxx

Am determined to get going at 10:30 by tacking some other jobs around the house (like the washing; and dealing with yesterday's leftovers from the roast). Then with any luck a brisk hour or two in the sitting room will set everything right once more.

OK. Time to dash to the loo and then off to the kitchen to start a little early. Anyone else going to have a HHBlitz at 10:30am? Chase after me if you see me fly past....

    MissH
    xxxxxx
