I think I've gone mad because I've moved all the furniture in master bedroom and cleaned it top to bottom! I've left 6 boxes out for DH to sort when he comes home from work:eek::o. It wont happen, but he can put them all back under the desk. Main bedroom is always a disaster because that's where DH's 'stuff' goes. I've cleaned all the shoes in the house and even scrubbed and shower rings.

So I'm working like a person possessed. Three questions:
    1 Limescale in the toilet?
    2 Rust on chrome?
3 How long to keep documents/bills before shredding?

Ironing and kitchen floor need doing again.

Firstly well done you are doing great.

Limescale - where is it? In the bottom of the bowl? Empty out all the water, use a small plastic cup/bottle (keep for this job only) and then an old sponge. Fill up with white vinegar, leave overnight if possible. I have just brought some astonish tablets to try for this job so I'll let you know if they work.

Rust on chrome - sorry I can't help

Documents, depends what they are, personal, business, tax etc - more details and then somebody can advise.

HTH and keep up the good work

Chloris business documents need to be kept for 7 years. Ordinary household stuff - utility bills and so forth - I usually shred after 3 years. P60 documents (your annual summary of wages, tax etc) you need to keep forever. I also have ALL my medical documents to keep forever, as ammunition for the inevitable fight for retaining my benefits, but hopefully this last won't be something you have to worry about. :o HTH.

DS2 has his flu jab next thursday...I will have to sit on him...hes only 14:):)...hates needles..I would rather take the LOs they are much less trouble.
I sympathise wholeheartedly; I'm totally needle-phobic. The way I cope with the annual blood-letting (they always want half an armful from me) is to insist on lying down, have Mr LW with me to talk to me about anything (usually gaming, but that's just us :D) and I mentally "detach" the arm they're using from me, so that in my mind it's not a part of me for the duration. Maybe a similar strategy would help your DS? I hope he gets a sympathetic nurse doing the deed.:o

bet I know who she is...she's moved nearer me now but I haven't bumped into her 'on the mile' yet.

Which recklessly hopeful flylady pegged out washing? Brought in in wetter then it went out, LOl, nut when it was lashing down I refused to go get it.

    Hang on

if still going - the boudoir

have packed my e bay sales ready to post
and booke Jynx in at the vets. She has to be starved - that'll be fun. Think she'll have to be shut in one part of the house while our older cat is in the other part. And since she's an accomplished thief and eater of anything vaguely edible we're going to have fun.

Now IF I get off my backside NOW I can have the stairs hoovered before the vallikids get home

    ETA

    Stairs vacuumed
Have also taken the labels off my new towels so they can be washed ready for use in the 'new bathroom'!

    Mudbath Me again :)
I've spoken to DH and his reasons at the time for selecting the HTC desire were:
It had the fastest processor at the time- 1gigahertz. The new i-phone has the same speed now, but is more expensive
The apps are not controlled by apple. Apple have more apps, but the Android market because it's open source, is catching up quickly (my fave. is the night sky one where you can point the phone at the sky and it gives you a star/planet chart so you can starwatch)
There's more growth in Android because of the open source nature of the operating system.
On a trial between tomtom etc GPS the HTC Android GPS came out tops (it's linked into Google I believe)
You can use it as a portable wi-fi hotspot for your laptop/computer when away somewhere
It is a lot cheaper than an i-phone, and you are not locked into the i-features such as i-tunes etc.
He did mention that if you watch a lot of movies/youtube etc on your phone, perhaps the Desire HD would be more suitable as it's got a larger screen.
I use mine with a kindle app and can comfortably read free downloaded books, so it's not that important for me.
edit More recently- after I got the phone, it's won numerous awards and has featured as phone of the year (or something) on the front of several PC magazines
    Hope that helps!

Hi folks, As per usual my week started with good intentions but degenerated into just trying to keep up with normal life.

I seem to have lurched from one problem to another. And chased around trying to sort things out.

DS1 has decided to leave uni, again. Then hasn't answered any of my phone calls.

I spoke to college for him, sorted out finances and computer for him. Ran around like a ...... actually I can't run.. but I sorted things for him and have heard nothing since. Not sure whether to be worried or not as he sounds very upset.

DS3 rang to say his ship had broken down amid severe gales. And was drifting. But not to worry !! Mobile phones are great, but blow by blow accounts of things just make me worry more. I have spoken to him again and of course the bad weather has passed, we all have it here instead.

pup has a fractured skull. She was in a fight with another dog. Then last night she nipped our neighbour's ankle. DH says she needs to be put down. I am hoping it was just a 'one off' because of her sore head.

And too many other things to mention...

I have used my new Miele and I can use it if I am sitting down as the suction is very strong.

Today I cleaned all the downstairs floors, even the hard floors, and if I feel up to it later I will mop the kitchen floor. The flooding has meant we have mud outside again covering our footpaths. Both dogs have been in and out the house and made the floor really muddy.

Tomorrow I am taking a day off and going out with DD. We both feel in need of an 'us' day.
