Cant agree more Mupette why people insist on shopping there is beyond me the stores are disgraceful everything is always in a mess when you actually do find something you like it will normally be a damaged of the Staff are so disinterested its not even Funny I avoid that place like the Plague, I feel for you OP but you should have taken the refund of £30 as I dont think its likely that you will get anything from them now!LOVE isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live WITHOUT0

I have only ever been in the store once and that was enough, I had been to work (started when it was dark) and was wearing my contact lenses which was fine but by the end of my shift it was really bright sun and my eyes hurt so as I had forgotten or lost my sunglasses again I thought I could find a really cheap pair that would get my through to my evening job without wanting to tear my eyes out with my bare fingers.
Every pair in the shop were either scratched to hell or dirty or broken..So although they were cheap they were worse then the stuff from the market so I went there.
The shop though was just tacky (in that dirty messy way rather then style)There is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;

I can't believe that on a Money Saving Forum, people have only negative things to say about TK Maxx! Yes, stores are sometimes a bit messy (actually the new Liverpool store is quite nice at the moment, but it has only been open a few months), but if you have time to look carfully there are loads of bargains to be had.0

The new one at the metro centre is stunning, things do get broken sometimes, due to the sheer number of things there, just be careful when you pick things up.0

Steer, there are loads of bargins at poundland but the stores always seem clean and the staff always seem friendly (well around here they are and they were packed at halloween with no problems at all) so being cheap does not mean bad service or it shouldn't anyway.There is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;

Sounds like it was the sharpest knife in the box...
On a serious note, it's not like they have been wilfully negligent or reckless. Accidents happen.
Also if your not bothered about the £60 jeans why refuse the £30 refund?Teachertim wrote: »I've just been to TK Maxx, picked up a knife block from a shelf at the bottom and rested it on my knee to look at it. Unknown to me, there was a knife sticking out of the bottom of the box which has ripped by jeans and broken the skin. Told the manager of the store and he offered me £30 - the jeans cost £60. I refused his offer and told him I'd be taking the matter further. I am furious, he did not ask if I was ok or take any details, or offer me first aid. I'm most bothered about the jeans though.
Any ideas ? Is there legislation they have broken by have exposed knives in the store ?
Why don't people read posts properly?;)0 -
Op. you should of insisted on the accident being noted in the accident book as it may look like your trying it on should nothing be noted.

Bleed?
Sorry, I couldn't resist it. :rotfl:The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -

You're not allowed to make jokes on this thread. :eek:
I've posted "Put a plaster on it!" twice now and it has been removed. Serious sense of humour failure by the mods in my opinion... or by the OP.
Will be interesting (but probably only to me) to see if your comment stays and mine gets removed again.
Maybe we aren't allowed to rib people gently anymore.0 -
Oh dear, I didn't know I'd get my knuckles rapped. I've always enjoyed some of the humorous replies that some posts get. I hope MSE isn't going to do away with humour altogether.The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
