Just been cut by a knife in TK Maxx - What can I do ?

Ive got some advice which you may not like but dont shop there in future0

I put my foot in a shoe to try on in TK Maxx and got my toe stabbed by the sharp bit of one of those security tags that had somehow got loose inside the shoe.
I told them at the checkout but they didn't seem particularly bothered. I wasn't after compensation, but an apology would have been nice.
Another time (recently) I bought a bedspread, walked two miles back home with it, only to find they had not removed the security tag. I walked all the way back again, absolutely exhausted, explained about all the walking and asked if there was any chance of a couple of quid for a taxi home. They pretty much sneered in my face.
Not A1 for customer service are they?I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

I actually complained not that long ago about tkmaxx/homesense's safety to do with knife blocks.
They don't bind the boxes or anything and the boxes are at child height. I'd reccommend writing them an email perhaps?0 -

Actually no - in law you are entitled to the value of the jeans at the time of the loss, i.e. the price of a secondhand pair of jeans.
If they paid you the price of a replacement pair, you would be in a better position than you were before.
It's called "indemnity".0 -
They should have at least put it in the accident book0

I have seen boxes on their shelves with broken glass inside.0

I'd say being TK Maxx, be thankful you were offered anything other than an attitude.
Five years have passed but still I'll never forget the way I was treated when my child was hurt in their store by an exposed rail end. I took my child to the customer services till to show them her injury and asked them to make management aware of the danger, so that it could be rectified quickly (taping something as a make-shift to the offending end of the rail would have done it until it could be properly fixed) before someone else got more seriously hurt. The customer service girls were lovely but the manager was like the bloody exorcist.
I was shouted at in front of a store full of fellow shoppers, called a liar (yes that actual word was used), and she refused to make a record of the incident in the accident book. I wrote a stinking letter to head office about the managers attitude toward me and complete disregard for health and safety, enclosing a photo of my child's injury. I asked them not to insult me by offering any form of compensation, because no money/voucher would compensate for the way we were treated for simply trying to bring a hazard to her attention. I expressed that I would like a written apology from her ladyship and suggested that the manager be given up to date training on both health and safety and customer serivce. I got my written apology but from head office on her behalf rather than the woman herself, so in effect it meant naff all. Last week I'd looked all over town for an item which I couldn't find and was advised to try TK Maxx. I did ventre (begrudgingly) into the store to see if they had what I wanted. The place was in complete disarray, items all over the shop floor - some of which were broken, so they obviously haven't learned much since.
From what I've seen written over the internet in respect of complaints made in-store, I'm not alone in being force fed a piece of store management's mind when trying to bring a matter to their attention.
£30 may be all the shop manager is authorised to offer, certainly write to head office but I wouldn't hold out much hope - the general consensus that I have both experienced and seen on t'internet is that customer satisfaction along with health and safety is not at the top of their priority list.0 -
Well, with people like that managing their stores; remind me to apply for a job as Manager if I get made redundant, they'll take anyone0
