Worst/Strangest Christmas Present!

Chocolates and lavender gift sets...don't mean to sound ungrateful but just because I'm over 60 doesn't mean I like 'old ladies' presents. I do think they lack imagination, and if somebody don't know me well I'd rather they asked me what I'd like - or just not bother
I worked with the elderly for 30 + years and have seen over and over how disappointing it is not to get something useful, or feminine. I dread the time I get winceyette nighties and bottles of diesel oil sherry:eek:
Rant over, I did have some wonderful pressies from family and friends who know me well :A0 -
My brother once got an awful mug from a family friend who is his godmother. It had a picture on it of a pig dressed in lingerie and fishnets, pulling a sexy pose with rolls of flab hanging out. He was about 13 at the time, and my mum put it in the bin cos it was so offensive!0

i appologise for the gripe by reading the other peoples posts has got me ready for it.
:j:T:rotfl:
my worst present (from people who know me! - not counting people who don't very well cos they wouldn't know!) is getting bottles of wine or champagne.
I live on diet coke, nearly literally, (although since starting on here have drank less dc and have also happily drank the lidl's freeway dc), and am always shocked that when i host i get in all the booze and non boose that everyone likes when they visit, but have to carry a supply with me of my tipple as people who know me very very well never have any in! when they invite me.
This said, went to family yesterday, took in my bottle of dc as expected them to have none, and they had a bottle (horray!), so there were two bottles. I drank part of one and took it home with me. Found in the car the second bottle had been put in (does that mean don't visit again soon (they live ten minutes away) or if you do visit expect not to be offered a drink like usual!!

Well I received a gift yesterday and it didn't even have my name on it, it just said "Girl" on the tag! When I asked about it I was told "oh yeh it just means it's a gift for a girl so you can have it"!! Then the next gift had no tag at all and like an idiot I asked again who it was for. So she took it off me while she ripped one corner and then said "oh yeh thats a girl gift as well so you can have it"!!!! GRRRRRR!!
ETA the first gift was socks which I suppose might make a couple of sock monkeys lol, and the second was a horrible cheap belt which went straight in the bin!Feb GC £80 per week (Well I'm gunna try:whistle:)

When I was nine i received a bottle of Oil of Ulay (it's called Olay now -30 years later).
Off the same auntie, the next year, I received a sewing box with about 30 spools of thread in it (It was a raffle prize) and I can't sew for toffee even now. My mum paid me a fiver for it and gave it to my Nan for Christmas. :j
Two Christmases ago my OH bought me an electrical thingamajig that put oxygen into your skin to supposedly plump up the wrinkles in your face. Worst thing is, when I didn't use it he asked if he could. He noticed i'd put it in the bin after a couple of months, when he asked why, I told him it was broken. :rotfl:
This year I got exactly what I wanted. I bought one of them and told him to pay me back and got the kids to TELL him to buy the other one - it worked too.I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!
