This made me cry...thats the sort of thing we do in our family!! With looks of surprise on our face every time it gets opened. Mum and I often have to leave the room so that we don't keep sparking each other off again.

My grandmother is well known for buying the worst presents ever! My parents over the years have received a leather covered bottle (empty bottle), two odd pillow cases, and numerous pieces of hideous ceramics (the things you know are in Poundland for a REALLY good reason!!)
She also sent my cousin grape scissors for his 18th birthday! My sister and I have received many 'wonderful' presents - including a bright pink polka-dot t-shirt with shoulder pads & about 4 sizes to big, a knitted scarecrow, an embroidery thread organiser (I was 13!) an Edwardian lady's guide to gardening (my sister was 15!). Now we all open her presents Christmas Eve and have a giggle to see who got the worst one!
She keeps saying she's going to stop buying us all presents now she's getting older and give us vouchers, but it never happens!!0 -
5 sweets wrapped in a bit of Christmas paper from my godmother. Over 50 years ago but I haven't forgotten! (and no, she wasn't short of money!)0

One year I had a brown camisole size 14 (I am a 10) a pair of the most gaudy bedroom slippers(think arabian nights) both M&S, so I took them back hoping to swop them for something more to my liking I was told that the camisole was 4 years old they couldnt take it back and the slippers were so old they werent even on the stock list, she sent me 6 pairs of bridget jones white knickers size 16 and a pair of flennelette pjs size 16! I always open here presents first because I know it will be nothing to get excited about. You have to laugh dont you!keep smiling,

My auntie (who isn't short of a bob or two) sent me and hubby a plastic fly splatter a few years ago, and last year she sent us a wasp catcher, it was a bright yellow plastic pod that I really couldn't work out how it would ever catch wasps, no prizes for guessing that they both ended up in the bin. Was thinking of sending her a really useless present this year to see how she likes it.0

havent read them all so i hope no-one else has posted anything like this (i somehow doubt it). how about your grandmother giving you your deceased grandfathers re-usable contraceptive (as she no longer has a use for it !!). apparently they were literally sheaths which were washed out and re-used. wish id kept it now to show the doubting thomas who dont believe me0

Arived home on Xmas eve and see a box all wrapped on Kitchen table. Got my name on it so l have a feel.....as we all do. I think think YES he has bought me the boots l was wanting.
Xmas morning we open prezzies and what was in mine a Bloody Deep Fat fryer with a note attached Get the Dinner on now. I was furious as l had bought him a gift for himself that he would like and all he thought about was himself as the fryer had broken in the Nov.
Was Not a Good Xmas................:mad:0
