Asda overcharged

  • I'm slightly disgusted by Asda House, to be honest. A CS advisor blatantly lied to me about their policy. I questioned whether it was per item, as the store said it wasn't. The CS in Customer Relations (Asda House) told me the website was wrong and that it isn't per item. She went as far as to tell me that she'd spoken to the person who had formulated the policy, who told her it was per transaction. I phoned back and spoke to a more reasonable CSA who told me it was per item. Gift Card sorted and an apology from the store. I should complain about the first CSA I spoke to at Asda House, as she lied through her teeth.
In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

Don't confuse 'product' with 'item'. As I read it, it means if you bought 2 tins of Heinz beans and were overcharged. that is still one product. So if you bought 2 tins of Heinz beans and 2 of Heinz spagetti that is 2 products and so 2 giftcards. Not a giftcard for each 'item' = 4. Then again I could be wrong:rolleyes:
DTD - Doing Tesco Daily - while I still have vouchers!

She must be getting fed up of people ringing and asking. I had exactly the same conversation with her a couple of weeks ago! :rotfl:

Different flavours have different barcodes, therefore different items

Bought bottle of wine from Asda today and was charged too much. Went to CS and waited for ages and ages for someone to sort it. Eventually she gave me £1.50 overcharge back. Very pleasantly I asked about gift card and she said policy had changed and that £2 was only if you bought one of Asda's own products which the wine wasn't. I thought it was odd so came on here to check it out...what exactly is the policy then please? ( think the CS advisors think they own the place...well they dont!)

What should I do as a matter of principle...ring whom?
Cheers folks x (feel better now got it out of system a bit )

It is DEFINITELY standard policy to give a giftcard, it's just that most of the staff at the CS desk absolutely hate doing so and will tell bare-faced lies to put the unsuspecting shopper off the scent. Scandalous company IMO...

Here you go, unequivocal proof that this a definite policy:

What happens if I am overcharged?
If you have been overcharged or undercharged in any of our stores we will gladly refund the difference (if you have been overcharged) and give you a £2 Gift voucher for each product you have been mischarged for.

well that's disgusting cos I am overcharged nearly every blooming week and only usuallly get the difference back. Had a £2 card once but that was about it! I shall be writing to them now too!

Strangely enough, she said that she'd had people phoning up to query this recently! :rotfl:

Ring Customer Relations at Asda House (0500 100055). Explain to them what happened and they'll sort you out a gift card. Complain about the CSA at the store, too, as she lied to you.
