My wife has also come into an inheritance that has the potential to change our plans considerable. Immediate retirement and more extensive travel (once this CV19 mess reduces). For trips lasting more than a few months I only plan the first month or so in any detail. After that I have a broad idea of direction of travel but no firm plans. The plans get firmed up as we travel. The first month will be in Alaska, flying into Anchorage then visiting Denali and on to Fairbanks. A quick flight north to Prudhoe Bay, then drive back to Fairbanks. After that it will probably be a (long) ferry trip east to spend a few weeks/month volunteering at a raptor centre on an island in Alaska. That will be very relaxing with spectacular scenary.Following that we will head south to Vancouver, on some form of public transport (bus or boat). After that, we will weave our way east, across the north of the States and southern Canada. Then down the east coast of the States before heading back west, eventually getting to the south-west of the States and on into Mexico.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

"once we are able to travel again" - ahhh, that tricky statement on timing!!
Our multi-national company has declared we will not move back to any offices globally until Jul 2021 at the earliest. A proper statement of where we really are with Covid.
Not sure when I hope to be travelling abroad anywhere. I suspect it may be 2022 before I get to that mindset. I certainly have zero desire to get on any flights this year. Whilst I do appreciate there are rapid advances in the race to get a vaccine & how they are using many known elements to get to it (as @tigerspill put it), I am happy to let others take the first dose of that cocktail! (& no, I am not an anti-vaxxer by any means!).
Plan for tomorrow, enjoy today!4 -

Frankly all this optimism from Johnson about a vaccine just around the corner is undermining social distancing and mask wearing that was started by Cummings eye test.I think there will be wide spread vaccination by spring 2021. There is absolutely unprecedented focus and money on this globally. They is cautious optimism.
i sincerely hope there will be widespread vaccination soon.
However let’s be realistic I believe ordinary citizens will not be getting a vaccination until at least August 2021 if not later.

That was a great week tracking wolves in the Carpathian mountains of Romania. But after 5 months of barely leaving London, I'm happy to head off again despite the potential difficulties.Over several years, I've traveled overland in a large circle covering Europe, Africa and Asia overland (across a number of different trips). There are just two gaps left in the overland circle
- Between Gondar in Ethiopia and Abu Simbel in Egypt
- Between Angouleme in France and Gibraltar
The trip between Angouleme and Gibraltar has been on my 'To Do' list for years now. I last visited Angouleme in 1997 and Gibraltar in 2003. Thanks to Covid, this trip has finally reached the top of the list, so later this week my wife and I are headed off to fly to Bordeaux, train to Angouleme, train back to Bordeaux, coach to Bilbao, then pick up a hire car and go through Madrid, Granada and Caminito del Rey down to Gibraltar and fly back from there. It is going to be a few years before I complete the very last leg, through Ethiopia, Sudan and Egpyt, to complete a pretty epic overland circular journey!11 -
I was considering calling it a day when why FTC ended at the beginning of December but now I've been offered a new job at another company for 30% more money.Normally I'd speak to my manager before handing over the resignation letter but, as we're all working from home, I can't decide if I should call then email or just email.0
