Try and move to Australia.
Just try it. Report back.
Each and every one of them happy and eager to stand there and hope to get a days work.
How things change.
Vader
Jeez I wasn't suggesting I or anyone else move to Oz I was just saying what I found out there's probably rights we have that they don't- swings and roundabouts."It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice." :T0 -
Sorry Vader but your going a bit far here,,
and clearly have not read my post fully,
SO TO CLEAR THINGS UP HERE GOES,,
I AM NOT NOW OR HAVE EVEN BEEN ON JOB SEEKERS ALLOWANCE,
I AM LIVING WITH MY PARTNER WHO WORKS A CRAP JOB FOR CRAP MONEY, (HE'S NOT COMPLAINING ABOUT IT HE'S BEEN DOING IT 15 YEARS AND THEY WAY THINGS ARE TODAY HE'S PROUD TO SWEEP YOUR STREETS)
I MYSELF WOULD LOVE TO WORK AT WHAT HE DOES BUT ITS DAYS ONLY,
I WAS ON BENEFITS LAST YEAR BEFORE I MEET HIM AS I LOST MY JOB 2 YEARS AGO THEN PREVIOUS RELATIONSHIP BROKE DOWN,
THEN I MEET MY PARTNER DECEMBER LAST YEAR,,
(I COULD AV LIED AND PRETENDED TO STILL BE ALONE , I NO PEOPLE WHO ARE DOING THIS NOW)
BUT I REALLY DIDNT WANT TO BE ON ANY BENEFITS AND TO COME OFF WAS LIKE ID BEEN FREE'D FROM THE BALL AND CHAIN,
AND I DONE THE RIGHT THING CAME OFF, IN HOPE THAT AS I NOW HAVE A PARTNER TO SHARE MY FAMILY RESPONSIBILITY'S WITH I COULD GO BACK TO FULL TIME WORK,
IM SOLE CARER FOR MY DISABLED 12 YEAR OLD SON AND SERVERLY DISABLED MOTHER 65 YRS OLD,
I WANT TO WORK BUT WITH FAMILY COMMITMENTS I CAN ONLY DO NIGHTS OR WITHIN SCHOOL HOURS,
IV SPENT THE YEAR GETTING MORE RECENT QUALIFICATION'S TO AID IN MY WORK SEARCH.
I AM GOING TO THE JOB TONIGHT AND WILL WORK MY AR*E OFF AS I REALLY WANT IT,
I JUS HOPE THEIR IS A REAL JOB THEIR AND IM NOT BEING LED A MERRY DANCE BY A MAJOR SUPERMARKET WHO HAVE NO INTENTION OF TAKING ON ANYONE , BUT JUST WANT TO GET SOME FREE LABOUR,
AGAIN I AM NOT ON JOB SEEKERS ALLOWANCE AND MAYBE I'LL BE THE ONLY ONE THEIR WHO IS NOT,,
AND BY THE WAY BY DOING THIS I WILL HAVE TO GIVE UP MY £53.00 WEEK CARERS ALLOWANCE FOR THIS WEEK AS I CANT SAY THAT I WILL BE CARING FOR MY SON FOR THE HOURS IM MENT TO,,
IF I WORK PAID OR UNPAID,, OR DO A COLLAGE COURSE FOR MORE THAN 22 HOURS A WEEK ITS CONSIDERED FULL TIME SO IM NO LONGER ENTITLED TO THE £53.00 CARERS ALLOWANCE , SO IN AFFECT I WILL LOSE MONEY DOING IT,
BUT AGAIN I STATE THAT ITS MY SHEAR DESPERATION FOR THAT JOB THATS MAKING ME GO FOR IT,
HOPE THATS CLEARED THAT UP FOR YOU,0 -
Wow, what can I say.
I have had a hateful private message (probably breaks a few T&Cs too) and a response to me aligning my comments to a nazi concentration camp.
Well tell you what OP. Don't do it.
Thats right, don't take any risks, don't make any attempts to make your life any better. There is no point in trying out a job unpaid, you might as well sit at home and take care of your carers responsbilities.
To your supporters here and the crew that somehow make a work trial feel like slave labour, then there right too.
The whole thing is a farce and nazi like*.
Good luck to you all.
I am just glad I never had your mindset when I was trying to get by in my life. I am very lucky, have no money worries and neither will my children. I don't worry about bills, money or the cost of things.I feel a but like a lottery winner but never bought a ticket, just worked hard, took a few risks and looked at the "end game" rather than the next few days/weeks/months of hard work.
So to all posters, your right, its all wrong.

Me neither, which is why I don't like to see someone who isn't as lucky as I am being taken advantage of.
Vader, please report whoever it was who sent you the nasty PM."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -

No Vader you are quite simply wrong. To work two weeks on a night shift and all you get back is the promise that they will look at employing you is just simple explotation. If it were 2 or 3 days (which after all would be enough to prove yourself) then I would agree with you. The fact that its two weeks would be ringing alarm bells with me, after all how long does it take a employer to decide?
This lady is out there, doing it. Her partner works and she is looking to improve her life so fair play. What more do you want her to do before you condemn her with your righteous judgement

WAS ME WHO SENT VADER PM ,,I'd hardly call it hateful,
basically same as iv already said above his post in bold letters,,
good lord give me strength please as vader seems to be missing the point im making here TOTALLY,,,
I am Not being forced to do it Vader im doing it because i WANT TO AND I am told that this is the ONLY WAY THIS STORE ARE HIRING STAFF,,,
I OF COURSE WOULD MUCH RATHER GO FOR PROPER INTERVIEW FIRST , then maybe a job trial with less hours so i will not lose my carers allowance at a time when we need it most ,
i couldnt give a hoot about giving it up if i get the job,
I want to do it i prey i get the job, im, of course a bit dubious that this is just another ,like someone has said before job trial and im going to used to just gain experience i Have experience before 2 years ago i worked for same company for 15 years, im not a fool, i also brought up my eldest son of 23 while working full time, he now is very successfully teaching in Russia and Germany and says he would NEVER want to come back to this country, ( fine thing when you son feels safer in Russia than in an area he was raised in) and he earns better money and is treated better their, and wants to settle in Germany in new year,
and im no social scrounger , which is almost like what you are trying to paint me as,,
and no i dont want to go back to the carering responsibility's i would like a life of my own thanks,, but im the only one who can aid my mum to wash bath dress ect ect, i cant expect my partner to do this, and my mum would not allow that,
i wish to care for my family while working nights, i believe i can do both and still have time to sleep, so your argument with me is pointless! :T0 -
OP, have you applied for any jobs as a care assistant or HCA? You obviously have experience of caring for others and you'd be able to work nights. Lots of places will take you on without previous experience or qualifications.
Shame on Tesco for exploiting people in this way. I'm tempted to boycott actually.0 -
no One Person i havent i was working toward teaching assistant working with disabled children, my course just finished last week , but this Tesco thing has just come up, i actually rang job center as i found out a new asda was opening in my area so thought id ask if they were recruiting for them, when the women told me about the tesco this was only 2 days ago so its all happened pretty fast lool, im looking forward to it really as i shop their all the time but feel asda needs my help more as our other one locally is usless lool,
but tesco has great benefits for their employees so now I REALLY WANT THIS JOB NOW!!! LOOOL,
ID BE HAPPY STOCKING SHELVES ,
i no that sound lame but i like the night and im a little ocd when it comes to organizing things , everything in its place and all that,,:D
if this dont work out i will maybe try the carers bit , or a job at a school with disabled kids,
but would much prefer nights at tesco,s right now:o0 -
I was going to apply for a local Tesco but they wanted 2 or 3 weeks training before you even got an interview. I went for a rival instead which had a 2 day course then if chosen you go on to train AND are paid for that. Id go for a rival instead
Edited to say: No I wouldnt go for that either, its a pee take. What if they dont take you on after the 2 weeks? Big chance of that! Go for some other company who wont take the pee.Weight loss November 09-January 10: [STRIKE]13lbs[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]20lbs[/STRIKE] 27lbs! :j0 -
cindy-you're not going to have problems getting your CA back are you if you can't have it for the time you are doing the work experience shifts? Cos if you are going to have to jump thru hoops to get it re-instated if this work experience leads to nothing, I'd be tempted not to bother.0
