thanks John i am a grafter and am willing to prove it,
i jus hope the other people are their more because its what the job center are making ppl do these days to keep their JSA,,
As this dont apply to me im going because i really want the job,,
i may not have worked in a supermarket before but i been a very regular visitor over the last 12 years and i know as a customer what drives me insane and i'd like to fix it,,
i see some of the staff in these places and some are as thick as 2 planks or just dont give a dam,, my local asda had to get 2 managers from their office to find out what Parmesan cheese was as staff didnt know what i was on about they made me feel like i was asking for Moonbeams,, and one women their had never heard of marmite ,,,
the store i will be in tonight is not as bad as my local asda's i must say :T,
fingers xxxx i will get job it would be a wonderful xmas present best ever,
but i am very much a pessimist always have been maybe cause iv never had any good luck but heres hoping it all changes tonight0 -
No Tesco arent trying to force her. They are taking advantage of her and the situation instead. If she was invloved in an accident at work i suspect there would then be a major cover up. And would she even be insured as she is not yet actually on the payroll.0

How long is trial for?
If its a week or two surely its worth a pop if there might be a job?

I'd agree if they were paying for a two week probationary period, but they want two weeks free work.
It's not on and I'm surprised it's legal."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -
thanks Dark lady although the cocaine sound great lol i cant afford to even think of going down that road loool,
if i did get the job i would be home by 7.30 am take my son to school at 8.30am come home by 9am go to sleep till 330pmor later as my son needs picking up by 4.15 , and my partner could always do this really as he finishes work by 4pm and i could still be sleeping,,
tbh im a night owl anyway i think it would suit me really as id still be available if my sons school rang to tell me my he was having trouble, (which they do sumtimes and i have to go rushing down their) id be able to get him and all id miss is few hours sleep,
i cant think of any employer who'd allow me to up and run outta work to deal with my son at the drop of a hat if i did days , so nights would be better for me,
i really dont mind nights i spend long hours up on pc till 3/4am anyway so whats the difference, and im VERYYYY much affected by Caffeine so 2 cans of coke cola would have me  loooool, much cheaper than cocaine looool,,
as for the press well lets see if i get the job first,
i will be xxxtrreeemmmlllyyy pee'd if i dont!0 -

It's a sad indictment of the state of this country that (some) employers are able to play prospective employees off like this. It's not like the OP is applying for a highly skilled job (no offence Cindy).
And they wonder why some people are happier on benefits."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -
Bit naughty this of tesco's. Work trials are supposed to be a "self marketing tool" that somebody can volunteer to do to show willing. They are not supposed to be the only way somebody could get a Job. Mcdonalds do a similar thing but to be fair but they do recruit without work trials.
If the Jobcentre are agreeing with this (and if you are claiming JSA then they should know as they have to monitor the employer and make sure the work trial ends after 15 days no matter what) then may I suggest a letter to your MP?The World come on.....0 -

VERY TRUE,, I was so much better off last year,, my rent was paid in full as was council tax , and i was getting £200 a week plus my sons £265 dla a month i may have been better of money wise but i was lonely and unhappy and carried the weight of my familys troubles all on my own,,
but i started seeing someone and he made a huge impact on my life its nice to have someone who supports you in the things you'd like to do and share things with , i started thinking i can actually have a life of my own he has given me great strength he may not earn a great deal indeed i was on better money than him ,
but sometimes its not all about money its how you feel,,
since he moved in we may have been very skint at times and all we got for dinner is beans on toast , but BOY Does that Beans on taste the best ever when you got a great person to share it with :A,
for me i feel iv had my time on benefits and i sooo want to work and have a life earning my own money paying my own rent, i want to get out of the benefit thing altogether , im pee'd off we even get £10,, a week toward our rent from HB and sooo want to do it on my own ,0 -
Is there any differance between someone volunteering and this? Not really. It makes good sense for a company the size of Tesco because you can see who is capable of doing the job without the faff of sacking them, processing the paperwork for payment etc etc.The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!
If I give you advice it is only a view and always always take professional advice before acting!!!
4 people on the ignore list....Bliss!0
