  • Please take my advice and steer well clear of Call Credit and Credit Score Matters.

Luckily, this morning, I checked my bank statement online. two companies i had never heard of had taken £19.95 each, out of my account.

Credit Score Online and Rewards Now.

It transpires that, when i signed up to call credit for a ten day trial, and cancelled well within the ten day period, it goes through an affiliate company called Credit Score Matters and you accepting a membership with Rewards now.

So canceling through Call Credit did not go through to Credit Score matters.

I have spoken to Credit Score matters and rewards Now, and they assure me that now they have confirmed with call credit that i canceled days ago (15/08/11) they will refund both debits made on my account within 7-10 working days!

I wait in anger and nervousness to see if this does actually happen.

I have been considering joining one of these free "credit score check" companies but have been put off by many of the stories I read on here regarding not being able to get out of it.I was wondering is there any of those companies who would let you pay one months fee without using a credit card using for instance paypal?or even a cheque so as you would not be tied in unless you wanted to continue.
counting down the time I got left.:beer:
  • I have checked my bank account and 2 companies that I have never heard of have each taken £19.95 out of my account. They are Credit Score Matters & Rewards Now. I am worried that they have my details. I have gone onto their websites and demanded refunds. They need to be stopped

The problem is your credit/debit card is also used by them to verify your address.
  • PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU MAKE ripoffbritain AT bbc AWARE OFF WHAT creditscorematters IS DOING !!!!!
  • Just wanted to post a quick reply and thank-you to all the other unfortunate victims of this particular scam who have taken time to put up their experiences and advice on here.

I too have been a victim. This afternoon, after noticing that no fewer than 6 X £19.95 payments have been taken from my account since May 2011 I have contacted my bank who have cancelled my card with immediate effect and assured me that they will arrange for a full refund. They will also be notifying the police as it is a clear case of fraud!

Before contacting the bank, I'd been reading through some of the 'templates' on here that some have used to ensure refunds and sent one off with my amended details. I have had an automated response from CSM acknowledging receipt and, interestingly, I have just received another e-mail notifying me that my e-mail to them had been read.... on a Sunday afternoon.

I'll keep you posted with developments.
  • Happy to say I used a template somebody had kindly added and sent to creditscorematters and they immediately cancelled my 'subscription' ... I then emailed back demanding refund and the money went into my account within 3 working days. I still feel very foolish in falling for this scam but in my defence I would point out that I had signed in to my Halifax account and was warned of a security risk ending with an offer of a free credit score test ... so easy for them. At no stage did I receive any type of correspondence so was very shocked to see the money being taken from my bank account!!! Thank goodness I regularly check my bank account.

    "Credit Score Matters"

Amusingly, the credit score produced by Credit Reference Agencies don't matter.

Lenders do their own credit scoring.
