Might Orange Wednesdays be an idea - it does make it half price. If you collect tesco points, some of their deals might work out OK too.0 -
Orange Wednesdays would be good when there's some films on we actually want to watch - seems to be a shortage of them at the moment!
Been through the restaurant vouchers on here and got a few we can useSadly I only have about enough Tesco points to buy a Mars bar :rotfl:
Just back from counselling - which was fairly good, mainly talked about what I've done so far, how to keep it up and how to prepare for big scary meetings later in the month.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Always the way isn't it? Orange Wednesday=nothing to watch, vouchers for fav shop=nothing i want to buy...:)Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
If you don't go out you could do at home themed movie evenings using DVDs instead.
We've done it on the 4th of July, watching Independance Day, with American Burgers to eat etc..
If you're into foreign films especially you can have Italian & French nights etc easily. Ok it's not the same as going out, but it can be quite fun.
Maybe avoiding the 'Withnail & I' drinking game could be an idea though.0 -
Sorry got thinking about nice films and food:
Lady & the Tramp - with spagetti - It's so sweet
Chocolat
Others will presumably have other ideas
OK when I get a house again a film/food night will be good
Otherwise it's back to thinking outside the box, like climbing walls, 10 pin bowling, go karting, dry ski slopes, adult ed courses and whatever you find in the local newspapers and on the library noticeboard.0 -
Squizz hubby and i saw adjustment bureau tonight on orange wednesday ... it was actually ok ....1

Aww Lady & the Tramp was the first film I saw at the cinema!
The Adjustment Bureau is one of those I've seen trailers for that I thought looked OK - more the sort of thing we usually wait to come out on DVD but maybe we should just go for it.
I love the sound of the more active ideas Se, but Mr S isn't so keen. I managed to persuade him to go swimming a few times but he didn't really enjoy it as he found it difficult - the only active thing he seems to really like is hillwalking, which isn't entirely practical for an evening out! Need to do some thinking...
Spare time update - spent yesterday lunchtime doing some French reading and listening, then had a walk on the way to counselling. Bit of a lazy evening as I was feeling tired and achy - watched a few programmes and read a little bit. Woken up with sore throat, runny nose and achy back - grrrr....Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Uh oh, that doesn't sound good ... dose yourself with whatever you can, quick.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Squizz I sdont think that many folk have a wildly exciting life lovey. Mine is of course :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
But if you want yours to be then you have to make it happen. Have you got friends you could go to for a meal in the week now and again and would then have you back? I love doing that.
Or I search for deals locally on 5pm/groupon etc and go out for a cheap meal. Or there's theatre deals sometimes. All these cost money I'm afraid but they work for me. I'm far too lazy to do anything active after a day on my feet at work but in the better weather I may attempt to run  or maybe just take wine and a book to my (shared) terrace. I'm full of cold capsules, vitamin c and zinc. And Lockets so I can actually talk at the meeting I've got shortly.
Souk - you're right.. about lots of things. Most people don't have wildly exciting lives, and actually I don't want wildly exciting - just fulfilling, not boring, and not sitting around doing nothing when I want to be doing something. Nothing wrong with a bit of sitting around doing nothing of course! And you're right that it won't happen if I don't do anything about it.
Friends though... hmm not really. I mean we have friends but nobody local that either of us are close enough to for popping round for dinner. I think we're both a bit anti-social!
Not looked at 5pm.. will check that out.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0
