On the activities, have you thought of the Canadian open canoes, we've hired them a few times on holiday, and it's quite fun, and you can see places you can't on foot. Actually a 'wish' for us is to look into doing it properly. Otherwise a skill that would help on future holidays, like scuba diving etc - OK we're not done that yet, but it's an idea :)

On the lunchtimes, are there places that do lunchtime concerts, not sure how close you are to a town or city centre, but normally there are places that do various free lunchtime concerts.

Awww Pooky, he/ she is rather cute.. I want to carry it around in a little pouch lol

Well I had to admit defeat with the cold when I woke up early Monday morning with a stabbing pain in my ear. Very sore and ringing in my ears, and a horrible echo when I heard any noise. Seemed to have eased off by the end of the day but today the other ear seems to have joined in. So, full of decongestants, painkillers, rubbing tea tree oil on the sides of my head and anything else I can think of. Doctors tomorrow though if it hasn't improved.

Had a fairly quiet weekend, though got a bit of gardening and housework done on Sunday, and the usual Sunday afternoon cooking session (quiche, coleslaw, cottage pie, chocolate & date muffins) which I haven't been able to eat much of.. hmmph. Managed to do some OU reading, but just glad I'm a few weeks ahead as I've not been up to doing anything so far this week. Vaguely bothered about what I'll go back to at work but not that bothered, so I am clearly too ill to worry!

On the things to do front.. we've booked to go to a lecture about Shakespeare at the end of the month - something I got emailed at work which sounds really interesting. Afraid I'm not keen on 'watery' things Se (other than swimming), but maybe there is something along those lines.. was going to take advantage of Mr S working late this Thursday to maybe go for a swim but doubt I'll be up to that.

Oh well, guess we all need a little 'switch off' now and then.. although it would be nice to do it without a head that feels like it's going to burst!
