Yep been off yesterday and today.

El - the lecture is about Shakespeare being performed with the original pronunciations of the words, sounds really interesting. I thought of you when we were booking it!

Have you seen my handbag?! I'd have to give it a good clear out first! :rotfl:

Hmm I could continue from that post about 'a good clear out' with a description of the stuff that my body (mainly nose) is producing but perhaps best not!

Still off sick.. getting better but seems to be a slow process. Was actually sick this morning - drinking two cups of tea on an empty stomach plus coughing hard is not a good combination (no Pooky it's not morning sickness :p)

Had to email counsellor to cancel today's appointment so had to log into work email. Replied to a few urgent bits and then put my out of office message on. I've only really got one big job which needs to be done before next week - I could do most of it from home but will leave it till tomorrow and see if I'm well enough to go in. Just glad that it was a quiet week work-wise anyway although still think I'll be going back to rather a lot. Ho hum.

Back to bed for a bit I think...

Hey Squizz, thought of you the other day when I read an article in Grazia about how a quarter of folk lie about what they did at the weekend to make it seem more interesting! It said that weekend fun is the new sex ie everyone thinks everyones having more than them but they're probably not!

On that note I am sat in with Radio 2 on as I feel exhausted. The shop was reet busy today and I cant think of anything worse than having to go out.

Lol Souk, I bet that's true! I used to work with someone who was always surprised when a 'young person' like me had spent their weekend just pottering about and not going out doing lots of stuff!

This weekend.. went out for lunch on Sat to lovely Vietnamese noodle place, then into town for a little bit of shopping. Got some really nice sheets in John Lewis - reduced from £15 to £1.59! I got some clothes in the Oasis sale.. really liking Oasis at the moment. Treats budget is spent up, but really happy with what I got..

The dress is supposed to be midi length but on a little short person like me it's a nice maxi - long without tripping me up!

Getting our Sky broadband fitted today - woohoo! So Mr S is at home waiting for that, and I'm back at work although still not feeling 100%. I have just faced the scariest of the "why haven't you done that yet" phonecalls that I was expecting on my return, which wasn't too bad..

Anyway, I would like to have goals for this week, but so far they are just 'survive'...

Ooh proper broadband is rather fantastic :D Was installed while I was at work yesterday, but apparently only took 40 mins, including connecting up the old dead phoneline (which we had accidentally cut through when we did up the living room :o)

So last night played with the internet quite a bit :) Had a look at Eurostar - price had shot up hugely so decided to put off the Paris trip for a few months. Booked Travelodge in London for two nights instead (£80 a night) so will be looking for stuff to do there, checking London Groupon etc.. quite looking forward to it! Mr S admitted he'd been putting off booking Paris as he was worried about work with the redundancies etc - just wish he'd said that instead of avoiding the subject!

Still a bit sniffly and haven't done much work this morning.. suppose I should get on with it.. yawn!

Hmm El's diary has got me thinking about food and what we spend on it. We don't buy the cheapest of most things, but we do try to get bargains, although on the other hand we do prioritise food a bit and tend to get good quality, organic, free range etc. I said I was going to try to have a £100 budget for my share of food this month but I actually don't have a clue what I've spent. So think I might keep track - just out of interest really, though might be a bit scary to find out how much it really is.

May as well start from this week, so last night Mr S spent about a tenner in Waitrose although I'm not entirely sure what on! We had chilli (leftovers from freezer) with nachos, cheese and jalapenos. Estimate chilli cost about £5 for four portions, nachos were 99p and other bits about £1 so last night's meal was about £4.50 (for two).

Tonight we're having chicken (in freezer) with pasta and pesto - I just need to buy a jar of pesto on the way home. Chicken breasts about £4 a pack from local shop (got half a pack left), pasta 56p for 1kg from Aldi, pesto £1.50 from Waitrose, so meal about £3.60.

We also both bought lunch yesterday and spent about a fiver between us - total spend so far £16.50 (ish).

More food, eek, this is going to be scary - slept in a bit so had to buy lunch.. make that total £20.. and that's only three days in! No idea what we're having for tea either.

Anyway, today has been better than expected. Had a meeting that I really wasn't looking forward to with some people who have given me a bit of a hard time in the past, but it actually went pretty well. I felt almost confident that I could stand my ground and speak up when I needed to, so happy with that.

Had counselling earlier - fairly good on the work front but got into some other stuff that was quite difficult, and think her advice is going to be a bit harder to follow through with there.

Did a bit of 'digital detoxing' at lunchtime - unsubscribing from emails that I don't really want. There's hundreds of them!

Money - got £145 left in bank after paying for the London hotel, probably spend about £30 at farmers market, then payday next Thursday, so hoping to have £100 left to stick into the 'next OU course' fund.
