  • Hi Lula, lovely to see you here :) That's a really good point re the exercise, I did have more energy in general when I was running regularly. I also found I didn't feel like eating quite as much. 4lbs in three weeks is really good - well done!

I have to admit to buying thermal underwear at the weekend :o

Thanks for the warm welcome :)

It's really not running weather at the moment Brrrrrr - I'm staying in my cosy chrysalis with a Davina dvd but intend to emerge all slim, fit & toned next spring & with pretty wings too. Ok, that last bit was pure whimsy but I'm sure you know what I mean :D

Pretty wings would be quite nice :)

I did run through most of last winter, although I don't think it was quite as cold as this! Not really tried any DVDs apart from the New York Ballet Workouts.. actually I think I've still got them somewhere, could give that a go maybe!

    3. Post on blog at least 2 times a week and build up a following
Think I have posted approx twice a week, and it's going alright, not got a huge following but I've had a few 'conversations' on the blog and on Twitter. Enjoying the regular writing.

Missed a bit off here - I was contacted by a publisher via my Twitter account and asked if I would like a free review copy of a book they are bringing out which is related to my blog topics.. which I'd seen and was planning to buy anyway - so that's rather nice :D

Thats excellent! And I'm glad that Lula popped along too, how lovely :)

Its a lot of money to pay off next year, but I bet you can do it - you're really accelerating now, doing brilliantly.

  • Brrrrr... atchoo! Erm morning...

Last day at work - hooray! Got a few things to do but really hoping for a quiet one. Still feeling full of the cold. The cat seems to have one too, she keeps sneezing, poor thing!

All set for Mr S's birthday tomorrow - my mum asked me to get a nice bottle of wine on their behalf, so I popped into Waitrose on the way home, there were a few things reduced so I got a nice dessert for after tea. Got in, and Mr S had been there on the way home too and bought the same dessert :rotfl:

Anyway, we are off for a Thai 'Christmas Special' meal tomorrow courtesy of Groupon again (roughly half price), then planning a lazy few days before Christmas - can't wait :)

You made it in! Happy sneeze-free Christmas, sorry the cat's got it too ... and how sweet that you and Mr Squizz think so alike!

Happy new year everyone! It's nice to be back on here and catch up with everyone :) Not quite so nice being back at work - 180 emails to catch up on! But trying to start the year with a positive mindset.. :)

Really enjoyed our quiet Christmas - we went out for dinner for Mr S's birthday on the Wednesday, then spent the next couple of days stocking up on food etc. Christmas day we took it pretty easy - had a nice walk, played board games and ate lots :D The rest of the week was fairly similar, discovered some new places to walk around town (car is broken) and some nearby allotments which we're going to get on the list for. Had one foray to the sales - we had some vouchers to spend, so I got some trousers in Debenhams and we bought some rather posh wine glasses in John Lewis. I also spent £43 in Primark and got 15 items - lots of tights and layers for under things - it's not actually been that cold though since, but I'm sure I'll get plenty of use out of them.

Stayed in for new year and then had a flying visit to Mr S's relatives near Brighton. His cousin was over from Australia with her family, and he hadn't seen her for 20+ years, so there was a big gathering at another cousin's house. Was really nice, they all get on so well and all their kids are so good-natured and lovely :) Got back yesterday afternoon and just chilled out..

So 2011 eh? Lots of things I want to do this year. Getting started with the OU course - I've done quite a bit of reading over the hols and am going to make an early start on the coursework this week. Want to get back into running in the next couple of weeks, and there will be a few interesting, and definitely challenging, challenges. But before that, I need another cup of tea..

You *were* down near me - fancy passing through my train station :j your whole holiday sounds absolutely lovely - I know that next year, whatever part of the country I'm in, I won't be planning what was planned this year - 80% of the days taken up with things that *had* to be done, thats a real nightmare for me. What *actually* happened was a little bit like yours, except without all the lovely walks, cos I got sick throughout the whole thing.

:coffee: also sounds like a good plan right now - for me too! Good luck with those emails.

Thanks - plodding through them! Ooh just found your Christmas one, thank you :)

I think Christmas is at a bad time of year really - you want to travel and meet up with people but the weather is not really the best for doing that! I'm sure we will do the family Christmasses at some point but it was really nice just deciding what we wanted to do for ourselves.

Hoping to spend more time in that part of the world this year, we've only really had quick visits and not looked round properly. I love the beach, but want to explore the Downs too - and we passed Arundel Castle which looks stunning!

Just dared to check my bank account - all the sales shopping and the purchase of my lovely new laptop have come off (did I mention the laptop? Great bargain reconditioned one off eBay, should be arriving any day now), as have all my standing orders, and I have a reasonably healthy £415 left.
