    Excellent!
If you are paying charges, it makes sense to use savings at the moment. You can build them back up soon enough.

well do ne on figuring out the overdraft charges .. they are pesky and sneak in when were not looking ... pain ful to use savings but it does make total sense .. when you have paid off the debt and have all that money left ... it will be time to look forward to your home in the country :)
  • Payday again!

Ended up spending a bit more than planned in November, so I am only carrying over £200. But done most of Christmas shopping - just £25 left in the Christmas budget and only a few little bits to get for Mr S.

Waiting to hear from DCA to confirm totals on my two remaining debts - almost ready to pay off the smaller one but can't remember which account ref is which.. so once they tell me, I'll have a look at that. Kind of makes more sense if I can pay it out of this pay rather than the end of December's which is early and makes that a long month.

So December may look something like this..

    Income
    Main job 1263.00
    Second job 80.00
    Carried over £200.00
    £1543.00

    Outgoings
    Rent 350.00
    Phone 37.60
    Groceries 100.00
    Eating out 30.00
    Lunches 10.00
    Sporty type thingies 24.00
Flute lessons 60.00 (may be just 30.00)
    Sheet music 20.00
    Debt 1 160.00
    Debt 2 669.16 (I think)
    Christmas spendings 50.00
    £1510.76

    Balance - a slightly scary £32.24 - but like I said it's a short month!
Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012.

  • While I'm at it, I added up all my totals from my spreadsheet from the start of August to the end of November

    Rent 1400.00
    Phone 164.07
    Groceries 393.77
    Eating out 71.00
    Lunches 79.99
    Toiletries 25.49
    Clothing 82.40
    Badminton 30.00
    Books 68.53
    Sheet music 65.85
    Flute lessons 225.00
Other entertainment 103.11 (includes orchestra day, couple of CDs, not sure what else!)
    Debt 1 640.00
    Debt 2 640.00
    Overdraft 1399.69
Other 1026.31 (Paris, gardening stuff, charity donations, birthday and Christmas presents, musical instruments, spa day...)
    Paid into savings 970
    Total £7385.21

    Income
    From main job 5082.26
    From 2nd job 1198.85
Other bits 141.75 (Quidco, some Amazon sales, money owed from friend)
    Out of savings 1350
    Total £7772.86

Not sure what that tells me :rotfl:

    Agreed :D
    xx
  • Not quite sure where the £400 went though! Anyway, all organised for Christmas (apart from the food). I was pretty much on budget - £200 for everyone's Christmas pressies plus Mr S's birthday - and everything has been posted that needs to be. Mr S got most of his family's stuff with vouchers from surveys, and has also posted everything and apparently wrapped my presents - the organisation bug must be catching! This weekend we'll be sorting out food and putting up the tree I think :)

Get paid on Thursday next week and have changed dates on my standing orders so that debts get paid on Friday - £800 being paid so I will end the year just £1800ish in debt :j All set to be debt-free by March, then start some serious saving.

So looking forward to Christmas and very excited about next year!
