2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • It's CHRIIIIIIISTMAAAAS! Well, nearly. Finish work today :jGot paid by second job yesterday and main payday is tomorrow. £550-ish left in the bank. Standing orders set to come out on 23rd so will end the year with just £1819.16 of debt.

Annual payrise on 1st Jan too so although the end of January payday is a long way off it will be slightly healthier.

    Happy Christmas DFWers!

Excellent news! I was going to finish work today too, and then got offered some more tomorrow .... thought I'd better take it - I know you won't be on much, if at all, once you stop work (tho f/b rocks!) so I'll just wish you a Merry Christmas now

Happy new year! I did a silly thing :o I changed my standing orders to come out on 23rd December.. 2012! Realised when I checked my account just after Christmas and had far more money than I expected. Anyway they've come out today so balance is now down to £1819 - I think. I think, because this is based on my calculations, I haven't had a letter from the DCA for ages. I did email them and ask for accurate balances but not heard back - just chased them again.

So January is looking a bit like this:
    Income
    Main job 1252.90
    Second job 85.70
    Carried over 546
    £1884.60

    Outgoings
    Rent 350
    Phone 37.60
    Groceries 100
    Eating out 30
    Lunches 10
    Flute lessons 60
    Sheet music 20
    Debts 800
    Sporty type thingies 24
    £1431.60

    Balance £453

I think I have £1810 on one debt and about £9 left on the other one, so will be aiming to pay off the £819ish at the start of February and the remaining £1000 at the start of March.

Mind you have already spent half of the grocery budget with four weeks left (Christmas food :o) so might need to be a bit creative there!

Funny little money thing.. logged into Quidco to see if a company was on there - not had a payment from them for ages as I only had tiny bits and pieces. Noticed I'd had a payment in December (it goes to my old bank account where I was paying off the overdraft so hadn't spotted it).. finally got £15 for my Lovefilm account which I opened in.. October 2009 :rotfl: So added to my other little bits I've got £17.50 I didn't know I had.. won't spend it all at once.. or maybe I will! :D

Indeed, even if it might be dinner of jam and pickles by the end of the month :)

DCA not answering emails. Did some googling - they apparently don't answer emails, probably want to make you phone - so have written a letter asking for a list of payments and current balance. I just want to know what I need to pay off, grr!

Ah well, Friday and just made a couple of people happy at work, makes a change :D

    Have a nice weekend x

Good for you for not phoning - I hate that - tho if I can use saynoto0870 I might sometimes compromise.
