Hi! Can the e.on chap please explain to me about the Price Protection May 2012 tariff i.e. is it a fixed price to May 2012 is that just semantics? Would this be a better deal than the SaveOnline4? Ta, ducks. x

    Hi azureblue

Price Protection May 2012 guarantees that prices will not be increased above those agreed until 1 May 2012.

Also, prices will be reduced if our standard prices decrease (below the level that applied when the customer renewed) during the capped price period.

Helena has put some more info on another recent thread which may be of interest. Please see the link below.

As Helena advises, always best to pop your details on to a comparison site to see the full range of tariffs available, both with us and other suppliers.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Pablo

You will receive the Fixonline 3 discount up until the date of the tariff switch. After this, you will pick up the Saveonline 4 prices/discount for all ongoing usage.

Did you provide meter readings at the time you switched tariff? If you did, this will ensure the change of product is based on accurate readings.

The terms of Fixonline 3 does say there may be a cancellation charge for switching tariff before the end date. However, this tends to be discretionary and depends on the individual circumstances of the account.

Drop an email to the address in my Profile if you would like me to check this out for you. Will be happy to do so.

My one also ends in dec. So done the comparison sites afew times (as it keep changing my yearly usage to monthly !) I also had trouble working out my yearly gas kw,could not find total on eon site. Done nothing yet, but npower seems bit cheaper. Next morning got an odd email from Electicity Imbalance Recovery (who?) wanting my electric reading & serial no. by email no link to eon. Sent email to eon(Sun) to verify it's kosher & get my yearly gas kw,nothing, not a word. Is this company legit?

Do your own sums, but it'll probably pay you to submit a pretty high reading before you come off FixOnline3 IF staying with E.on - that way you've 'banked' units at the old price. Eventually you'll catch-up and pay at the newer rate. No real loss by "prepaying" when interest in the bank is 0.5%.

    Hi Irony

Electricity Imbalance Recovery is one of our specialist teams. They correct billing faults caused by things like inaccurate info/data received through the various channels within the industry.

Does the email you've received have a reference to eonenergy.com anywhere? I suspect the email has been sent from the personal company mailbox of one of our agents within this area. Is there a name of an agent on the email with a contact phone number?

It is a relatively small team who deal individually with affected customer accounts.

I'm sorry we haven't replied to the email you sent on Sunday. I'm aware there is currently a backlog of work in the email section.

However, if Imbalance Recovery are handling your account, the email team will need to pass you on to them.

Don't mean to worry you Irony, but I would suggest talking directly to this team as there may be a problem with your account. They will also be able to give you details of your usage.

    HI Malc
Their email ends with @eonenergy.com &tele is 01159955368(Nottingham) I'll not be calling them as I'm in the S.E. They do have my acc.no. so looks okay. Eon have all the info they asked for(Sunday's email) so why not go through eon? Eon still have not got in touch with me.

    Hi Irony

This is definitely us. The email address is ours and the phone number you quote is specifically for this team.

As I said earlier, this team deal with particular technical issues to do with the recording and billing of energy usage.

Did you send your email through our website? If you did, it will automatically be directed to your account and they can pick up the info from there.

If not, the email team will re-direct your email to them. Unfortunately, I think this team are currently several days behind, although I do know steps have been taken to improve this.

Sorry for the delay but I hope this re-assures you that Electricity Imbalance Recovery is a bona fide part of E.ON.

My E.on fixonline v3 comes to an end on 1st December as well - sad to leave as the online account information is good - but moneysaving comes first..

Question is - can I start the process now without incurring the penalty, given that it takes several weeks to make the switch - or do I have to wait till 1st December before hitting the button?

Incidentally EDF came out cheapest in my case with a projected saving of £170 on an £1800 spend..
