Leftover stuffing?

  • I'm really loathe to throw it out but I simply cannot think of what I do to use up half a made up bag of Paxo sage & onion stuffing. Other than making into stuffing balls and freezing what can I do with it?

  • add it to some mince to make homemade burgers,or meatloaf perhaps ?
  • Use as a thickener/seasoning in mince beef stew.

Bake some jacket potatoes, scoop out the middle; mash postato, stuffing and a tin of mackerel; place back into potato skins and crisp off in the oven (top with cheese if liked and eat with baked beans... YUM!)

Actually I LOVE frozen stuffing balls, they seem to crisp up better than fresh ones - and you can 'roast' them in the chip-pan.

  • Good morning. With left over stuffing can you not eat it with the next meal? Cook sausage & mash for eg.

Or as you say put it in the freezer for the next time.

In my house if anything is not wanted it goes in the dog :o he always abides to the being green rule and scoffs most things.
If winter comes, can spring be far behind?

Mix it with some sausagemeat, then shape into little patties/balls before cooking. Delicious! We often have this as a cheap "meat" part of a roast dinner with veggies and gravy, and it is one of our favourites. :D

The only problem with this is that your family will now always want their stuffing balls to contain sausagemeat, because they taste so much better this way...!!! ;):p

I love leftover stuffing in sandwiches but if there's any left after that I normally serve it with the next meal that has gravy.

There are more ideas that may help on this thread:

    Leftover stuffing?

I'll add this thread to that one later to keep the suggestions together.

Ahhhh and we have a winner!!

Although it'llbe sardines not mackerel :D

Hadn't any other leftovers to eat it with today as it had all been converted into other stuff and into the freezer last night (aren't I good?!) but had left that in the oven and forgotten about it. Also hadn't anything defrosted to make meatballs etc with it.

Thank you for all your suggestions

  • what on earth do I do with them?

I bought them at crimbo, completely forgot all about them, until I did a cupboard sort last night (nesting hormone, great for doing those jobs you never could be @rsed to do before!)

anyway, other than sticking it up a chickens bum, what else could I do with it?

    would appreciate any easy/cheap recipes

mix the stuffing as you would normally, then combine it with sausage meat. and make stuffing and sausage , sausage roll's.

U can use a pack of puff pastry or make your own. glaze with a beaten egg and cook for abotu 15-20 mins in an oven.

    They are delish.
