    Very informative, thanks.

Mobiles.co.uk are likely to be more than small scale, so reading your post you say
    "
for offices using PDas for bulk deliveries (my old office now does)
then the items are allocated on the old guns but delivered on the PDAs
so all items are scanned at the point of delivery/collection and signed
this updates on the RM site in real time(always fun scanning 300+ items at a companies reception....
    )"

If their local post office uses that method, using a PO address, would that mean they needed to collect or would it be delivered to their premises? If the former, then would the local Post Office be the ones who would sign for delivery to the PO or would it be the mobiles.co.uk person who collected?

lets stick to Royal Mail delivery offices for clarity
Post office dont do deliveries ;)
most companies bar very small ones get their PO box mail delivered
its just too much hassle to send someone to collect
it would always(should) be the recipient that signs

it doesnt matter whether its delivered or collected
the same signature methods are used depending on how the office runs and what equipment they have

Being an insider then custardy, how should one best approach the POBox minefield then?

If you want to use the post route (addressee being a POBox number) is there a way for us punters to track the situation and then hold RM or mobiles accountable? Is there a better RM 'product' to use?

Guys Dad – when you say the T&C address (post #5) what are referring to (see my earlier post #4).

    cheers,

    C

a PO box makes no difference to the tracking or delivery

Having now reread the exchange, I understand. Apologies.

I am taking the introduction of POBox route as a 'ploy' to reduce the chances of getting paid. In practice (if I understand you correctly) it's six of one and half a dozen of another (viewed from the RM 'signed for') perspective. We, as customers of RM, have no greater risk or certainty sending signed for mail to a normal or POBox address.

It begs the (rhetorical) question as to why use a Southampton POBox number when your business is in Watford? Answers on a postcard to: POBox 666, Eyehaven't Gotaclue.......

Thanks again custardy (but do you think the Southampton/Watford combination is odd (wearing your postie hat)).

The Southampton PO Box could just be that they are getting someone else to process their claims - sub-contracting, or perhaps they are moving their claims dept. to that area??
Don't worry too much, just send as before (to Watford address) unless informed in writing. If needed Mobiles.co.uk will have claims re-directed to the Southampton PO Box No.

The PO box belongs to CPW and has done for many years ...I'm wondering whether CPW may be taking more of a control on the matter after all the problems ?????
It's not just about the money

as said its a PO box of the sister company
its not unusal and happens all the time
you may find there is a diversion in place for mail sent to the Watford address
companies move mail and change destinations all the time
the banks are notorious for it
you can even have the situation where special delivery mail goes to one dept, recordeds to another and normal mail to another
RBS have an address in Edinburgh that gets bags of mail a day
the building hasnt existed for over a decade
so if you visited it or did a street view check
would you think RBS didnt exist?

No it's not a sister company it's owned by CPW and they have been getting a lot of grief about major problems with mobiles.co.uk"
The CPW PO box handles various departments mail and this is the first time that it's been used for this ;)

Logic would say it looks like CPW have decided to have it delivered to them rather than mobiles.co.uk

Either way it's just another problem now because theres plainly going to be suggestions by them that they've been sent to the wrong address or it's gone missing between departments :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
