I am just curious but is there not a risk selling the food based items?

I am glad you asked this as I was wondering too. I was always under the impression you would need a food hygiene certificate if you were handling food items? Can anyone confirm? Also, does it make a different if the food items are pre wrapped (i.e. sweets and chocolate bars)?
:T*Thanks to all who posts comps * :j
  • I made a load of things for the school christmas fair, which we had yesterday. Everything sold really well, the advantage we had was that we knew most of the customers as parents in the school and could therefore bully them into buying stuff for charity :D

    We sold

    Cadburys Chocolate Boxes x 37 @ £1 out of 70 taken
    Snowman Soup x 23 @ £1 out of 25 taken
    Elizabeth Shaw tree hangers x 19 @ 50p out of 20 taken
    Coffee Cards x 4 @ £1 out of 15 taken
    Tea Cards x 6 @ £1 out of 16 taken
    Reindeer Poop x 36 @50p out of 60 taken
Reindeer Food 70 - sold out and could have sold more!
    Peg Magnets x 8 @50p out of 30 taken
    Fridge Calendars x 8 @50p out of 14 taken
    Santa Keys x 44 @50p out of 76 taken
Perfect men Gingerbread men x 24 out of 36 taken

All in all a really good 3 hours work
It's easier to get forgiveness than to ask permission ;)

I take extra blank price tags so that if i get alot of people looking at something then hastily putting it back when they see the price, I can alter them and I always take a book with me that lists what its cost me to make each item so I dont accidently price too low :D
