I am so sorry Zippy Chick - hope you have had a lovely birthday.

OH slept for about 3 hours this afternoon, he got up for his supper, I made bacon and mushroom Frittatta with a small saide sald, he cleared his plate. I got some ginger beer yesterday he had some of that.......no dessert yet, he might have something later.

I did manage to get an hour on the settee, the washing had almost dried, finishing it off on the airer in the sitting room.......

Do not think I will need rocking tonight!!!

Thank you all again for the support whilst OH has been in hospital, it meant so much to me that people I do not really know except through the meduim of the internet were rooting for us. We both appreciated your concern, I have passed you messages to OH, he was very touched.
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.
  • OMG I am starving. OH called today and asked for Toad in the Hole. No bother, call me when you're coming home and I'll put it in the oven. 6pm, he calls, "I'll be here until 8!!" Argh I could scream, so dinner is cooking now, and we will eat about 7, which isn't unusual but I could easily eat a child whilst we are waiting. :D

I think I need a lie down to recover, I had my eye test today, I ordered the cheapest frames available & in total I had to pay £182!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When I returned to my car I had a parking ticket, I was 2 minutes late, I've never had an eye test take so long, I had to go back to the opticians at 3 to collect a letter as they want to refer me to the hospital, I have to drop the letter of at my Dr's, that will be the last I hear of that then.
Glad to hear OH is home Csarina.
    Hugs Hester

Redruby ..... Sorry to hear that your Dad is still poorly but I am really glad that your brother turned up.
Is your Dad drinking enough? I ask this because that can be a cause of confusion and constipation he should be drinking at least 8 pints of fluid a day ((((((((Hugs))))))) to you and your family x

BB makes a very good point Redruby, if your dad's not eating he's not even getting a tiny bit of fluid from food and if he's not drinking enough dehydration is going to add to his problems xx Big hugs from me.

    .

Thanks both, I dont think he has been drinking enough tbh, and he has not been eating, which is no good for a diabetic, the good news is, we called the Dr out today, who has had him admitted to a local cottage hospital, who have the facilities to look after him, feed him up etc :T, he is going to be in for a week, so it will give mum a rest too, he has also managed to 'go' a couple of times, so things may be on the up, at least he is in the right place for care now. DD and I will go and see him tomorrow night.

Thanks again, for all the good wishes, it really does help xx

Csarina, glad OH is home, sounds like he is enjoying the home cooking xx
  • Brilliant news Redruby, hopefully your mum will get lots of benefit from the rest, and dad will be well looked after, which will also give you a wee bit of a rest too. Make sure you take time to relax as well. XXX

    Ruby,

I am so pleased that your Doctor has managed to get your Dad into a local hospital, its a very common side effect of not drinking, the confusion......hopefully your Mum will take the opportunity to rest whilst he is being loooked after.Hospital visiting can be very tiring.....believe me I know.

Csarina ..... Glad to hear that OH is home :j (((((Hugs)))))

Redruby....... At least your Dad will have the care he needs and your Mum will get a rest (((((((((Hugs))))))))

Finally got my appointment for the duplex scan on my legs 8th December but it is at Bedford hospital :( which takes over an hour to get to. Not happy at all because it was not my hospital of choice.

Well I am off to get in my jammies and grunge for the rest of the night. Sleep well all x

    Happy birthday Zippychick.

Hi everyone else. Csarina, I've been scooting through the threads to catch up with your news, I'm sorry OH had been so ill and glad he's on the mend.

Lame wold and Bitsy, we have a miniature poodle who is a sweetie. She's very affectionate and only barks at next doors dog (who barks first, and actually attacked her yesterday when dd was walking her (she was on the lead and the other dog wasn't). He seems to suffer from short man syndrome.

OS has been in a bit short supply except for cooking. I made some millionaires shortbread yesterday but it's all gone now (meeting at work and dd took some to her b/f).

At the weekend we went to see the play Ghoststories which has had rave reviews and lots of publicity about it being the scariest thing ever. Talk about false advertising, I'm not great with scary things but this didn't even give me a frisson. I definitely wouldn't recommend it. Such a shame as we went with friends from the Wirral who were visiting.

Sorry about you having to make the trip to Bedford Butterfly Brain. I was the opposite when I had to have more mammograms and breast biopsies and had to travel to Dunstable for them. Having said that the care was excellent so I suppose if they are concentrating all the experts in one place it's worth the journey.

Hi all - just back from a few days on the west coast (boy, did it rain!) and now packing for a few days in the sun.

Good to read about Csarina's OH particularly :j

Have unpacked, washed, dried and packed again. Caught up on today's thread but won't manage the others, sorry. Hope that people are warm and well or on the way to being warm and well.

Empty fridge tonight forced a takeaway :p but it was perfect! Got the electric blanket on too...

    Happy days to all.
