Good morning

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for xx (add date). This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

It looks like it's wet again here :( I have appointments on the other side of the county, so I'll be leaving my bicycle at home today.

I'm making a rice and vegetable bake for supper, so that DS can pop it into the Rayburn for when we all get home :T Freezer Roulette for lunch again :p

Happy Birthday to zippychick

Have a great Old Stryle Day everyone :A

Dawn is just breaking over the trees outside - so I can see that it is still blowing a gale outside and it still looks wet! Both boys are snuggled up beside me watching TV. Tonights dinner will be macaroni cheese at the request of my eldest - which to be honest is a bit of a drag as they have swimming lessons tonight and I don't really want to be standing over a cheese sauce, but a promise is a promise!

Went to a PTA meeting last night and I need to pull my finger out to organise some craft stalls for the Christmas Fair. Luckily my friend at work emailed me after I'd gone home yesterday to tell me that we're having our photos taken today for the website - YIKES could have done with losing a few stone before hand!!

Off to see MIL again at weekend and to reorganise her house so that she can regain her independance when her mobility returns and she's allowed home from the hospice. Am not looking forward to the task ahead - but has to be done.

Need more coffee - have a good day everyone, hugs to those in need ((((())))). x
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

Not sure which thread to join.
Damp here again today, hubby's been dropped at the station with his packup, fish fed, breakfast eaten, DW unloaded & WM on.
Carbonara for tea tonight & I have an eyetest at 10, the last one was cancelled.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Good Morning everyone, dark and damp at the moment here in north Kent.School run this morning with the boys then I have to pick DGD up for her college at 10.30 then I am off to Uni library to look for some books. This afternoon I will pick up DGD again from college and deposit her at her house as she has work to go to at 4.30.Good job I usually have a quiet day on Wednesdays :) DGS Danny has arrived in Madrid for his weeks work on the MTV awards show . DD said he finally texted her last night to say his hotel was fine and not to worry if she doesn't hear from him as he is working long hours for the next week.At least she can stop worrying about where he is and if he's o.k.
I may have a good sort out of the freezer at some point today and re-do my list thats stuck on the door, it need updating.Hopefully a NSD today as I have enough to see me through until tomorrow or Friday at least.

    Morning all,

Its a bit dull and damp looking here, although I am off to work, so wont feel the rain, also they have the heating on there :D

Dazi I wanted to send you a big hug, its so hard when your parents are ill, at least mine are just up the road, I hope you manage to get down to see you mum on Friday and that she improves. xx

Went to mums yesterday, and spent the day cleaning, they have got themselves in a bit of a state, I gave the kitchen a good clean, although I only managed the counters, windowsills etc, inside the cupboards will have to wait till next time. I also hoovered through down stairs did 2 loads in the wm, and my brother turned up , so we changed my dads bed and shoved it against the wall, to try and prevent another fall, my dad was so confused again, its as if my dad had disapeared and someone else has been left there:(. We have an occ health assemment coming today, and 2 carers to get him up dressed and washed. I think we may have to get the Dr out to see him today, he is terribly constipated which I think adds to his confusion. Also he has not really eaten since friday.

Dinner tonight will be the pasta bake I made yesterday, with some garlic bread, so minimum effort tonight, I wanted a quick dinner in case I have to go to mums.

Bins and recycling have gone out this morning, will s + s the kitchen before I go.

:bdaycake::bdaycake:Happy Birthday to Zippy, have a great day xx

Thanks for all the good wishes re my dad xx

RR - hope your Dad starts to feel better soon and you all get the support you need in the meantime x

I did post late on yesterdays thread but I got confirmation yesterday evening that I have been recalled for a second interview next Thursday 11/11 at 11am :j

Not much OS goin on here today as I've a long day again and its going to take me a little while to get into the swing of it.

Forgot to take my night tablet last night (fell asleep :D) as had a very restless night. DH is working tonight so I'll have another early night to make up for it.

Pack ups are made, I'm ready, DD just needs her hair doing and everyone else is in various stages of readiness!

    Have a good day xx

RR - hugs to you and your family sounds like you're having a difficult time with your dad.

Dull and wet here. Last night's dinner was a bit of a thrown together effort but was ok.

DS1 went to Cadets did PT - think he now realises that he needs to get fit! He's playing in a Rugby match after school today - so every little helps.

Did remember to get some meat out to defrost for dinner tonight, so lamb steaks defrosted, so that will become lamb hotpot/casserole, will buy some fresh veggies and already have potatoes - so that's tonight sorted.

Looking forward to finishing work today so I'm able to get the house sorted, still got stuff everywhere - will be much happier once I've done this. The fridge and freezer are quite bare so really don't know what we are going to eat tomorrow night and Friday - must address this, and get a menu plan and shopping list organised.

Am really trying to not spend unnecessary money at the moment as really want to start making headway with reducing our debts but things are quite tight financially - at least we both still have jobs.

Work yesterday wasn't as busy as Monday but still busy.

Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Happy Birthday Zippy:bdaycake: I hope you have a great day.

Essex-girl (((((((((huggles))))))) hope you feel better soon x

JC...Well done! :T Positive vibes for the next interview x

Redruby ..... Sorry to hear that your Dad is still poorly but I am really glad that your brother turned up.
Is your Dad drinking enough? I ask this because that can be a cause of confusion and constipation he should be drinking at least 8 pints of fluid a day ((((((((Hugs))))))) to you and your family x

It was really windy last night but it seems to have turned into a blowy day today - dry so far I hope it stays that way.

Had a phone call from the GP's surgery yesterday asking why I have not been for an Asthma check lately....... I have been under Consultant care for the last five years and he refuses to put me back under GP care.
Then she goes on to ask if I had my flu jab  yes says I, at the surgery a couple of weeks ago. Honestly they really seem to be losing the plot.

Had HFW's HM mueseli made with orange juice and served with greek yoghurt and a drizzle of honey for brekkie - luverly.

Lunch is ham and egg salad and Dinner tonight is Chicken Casserole in the SC.

Still nothing going on OS wise - can't get anything done until DH has finished his shed and clears the house of his carp.:(

Might go down to the market today if it stays dry.

Hope everyone has good days BFN x

    Morning all,

Sorry to hear that your Dad is going downhill Ruby. It must be very worrying for you all. (hugs)

Essex Girl Hope you feel better asap and anyone else who is poorly atm.

Today I made a loaf of bread and stewed up some rhubarb & apple which we had for dessert with icecream. I mowed then as it looked like we were in for some rain but that didn't happen. Tomorrow I'm really excited as I'm getting my first on-line shopping delivery. It's just started up. Will be fab when the heat sets in and I no longer have to struggle with my walley trolley. It's free for the first delivery and $10 thereafter.

We had lasagne for tea with chokoe's and refrigerator coleslaw. :D Bit of an odd mix but we have surplus atm. Hope you all have a great day. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

Greetings from the Niagra Falls! It has been persisting down all night!

Happy Birthday ZIPPYCHICK :beer: I hope you a lovely day, my darling! XXX

Hugs for Redruby and Dazi, hope everythings with the eltern works out OK. Good to hear OT have got organised so quickly for your dad, RR. XXX

Congrats JC and fingers crossed for the next stage. x

Well I was a happy bunny after parents' night last night. DS2's teacher was glowing about my boy, and had some very lovely things to say about him, both in a professional and a personal capacity, its very nice to see that someone genuinely likes your child. :) DS1's teacher was very nice too, she had got the measure of him very well and seems to have adjusted and recognised his foibles really quickly, she had lots of good things to say about his abilities and I was delighted to hear that before becoming a teacher she had worked with children with Autism, and so nothing he says or does shocks her! So overall, a good night, I hope the year continues like this. :)

Plan for the day is proper cleaning, I fell away from it yesterday, and I have plans to do some level two cleaning today too. Wish me luck. Dinner will be spag bol with a mountain of veg in it and I will make a cake of some sort and custard.

Have good days all of you, hugs spoons and hi fives all round.

Oh, also meant to say, if Souk and Swan are lurking, I heard from divorcingjack the other day and she has just got engaged :D So good wishes publicly to her, from me. :D
