But they have gone up £40k in Edinburgh since you joined HPC - that must be annoying (honestly though, even if you have saved and invested wisely five years more renting and five years less of your mortgage paid off must be a drag). Good luck with the house hunting though.

Incidentally, I think you might be canny enough to get about 10% off asking price (do they allow that in Scotland or is it sealed bids)?

    Yes indeed. ;)

Note to self: remember to never argue with this geener chap unless I'm completely certain

    1 I'm right
2 I have all the facts
3 I have at least a spare few hours.

    :)

It depends on the amount of noted interests.
If no noted interests, you can make an offer and the seller can decide or not to accept.
If there are 2 or 3 noted interests, they will go to a sealed bid closing date
    :wall:
What we've got here is....... failure to communicate.
Some men you just can't reach.

Oh that is soooooo funny! So even if Geneer was the negotiator to beat all negotiators then if the place he is after is any good at all he will be no better off than the average punter.

Sealed bids and offers over nonsense effectively negated by single seller survey. Everythings fixed price and offers around nowadays.

Soooooo funny that you never knew that. ;)

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Quite right too.

(but don't give the secret away smeagold...Lite obsessive comedy efforts have been far too much fun)

Exactly!!!!!, he won't admit it though ;)
The only chance he'll have is to get a property that nobody else wants
