if it did, how much would go to charity? or would coinstar just pocket it. Best time to count your money is one of those nights you cant sleep :cool:0 -
Personally I just pick up all the change, and then stand at self service checkouts putting coins into the machine, you don't lose anything in commision that way, you spend your change and don't annoy any shop workers by paying it all in pennies0

The first item here:

would seem to imply that you're not imagining it.Stompa0 -

Hmmm, that's interesting. I've never used a self-service checkout, and had always assumed that they only accepted card payments - do they take cash as well?Stompa0 -
Lets put the Coinstar into perspective - if you save all your coins for a year and then use it, it takes almost the equivalent of a month's worth of those coins.0

A lot of banks won't take more than a certainamount of change, even when bagged up. So what you do it is get kids to help bag it aup and then pay it into thir accounts.
Abbey definitely let you pay as much change as you like into kids accounts - cos I checked last week.
Then you take the money out again but leave about 2-3% in Kids account as payment for helping you bag up:D Still cheaper than using a coinstar machine.
I have one of those HUUUUUUUGE whisky bottles and it's nearly there:T Just got an inch and then the neck to go so I empty my purse into it every night - 50's, 20' etc - £1's go in my pigsback piggy for dinner money and bus fares.Noli nothis permittere te terere

Maybe if you are only changing up less than £25 but anymore than that and it's cheaper to park!
Unless you wanna be picky about petrol, tyre/engine wear!0
