Us six figure people will see real benefits from OPing as we have a big lump to save interest on :D
Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.
  • I will be back into six figures when we move house later in the year!
  • :j :j great news on the OP and the house valuation :j :j

Glad to hear you're enjoying the new job. Sadly I'm with WABL - even if I go hell for leather with the OP's will be at least 5 years until get into 5 figure mortgage... but I am going to seriously celebrate when I get there ;).

    Me too MW :D:D

  • I hate this bit of the month. I have no room left to negotiate with my monthly spends until pay day :(

Aside from Monday and Tuesday when I was ill, I've spent the past week decorating the kitchen. It looks fab now. I wish I'd done it sooner. I'm going to end up not wanting to move, lol. TBH I don't want to move, I just want the house to be bigger.
  • Half term is nearly finished and I, at last, have time to think!

I got some overtime this week, which is brilliant. I've worked every morning and had afternoons at home to spend with the boys. My mum has looked after the boys so I've not had to pay out for childcare. The extra shifts have cost me more in petrol and car parking but obviously the extra income will compensate.

After the big OP due to hubbys bonus we haven't found any extra this month after that. Today I did receive payment from a mystery shop and I have transfered £23 in to paypal from TCB. I would have sent it straight to my bank but I have £5 in there from ages ago that I can't get out as minimum withdrawal is £6. Once TCB money has gone in I can withdraw it all.

I have listed lots of craft books on GM today, Hopefully they will go soon as craft books tend to sell well there in my experience. If not I will car boot them when the weather is good. We have a few good boot sales near us.

I am not intending to OP anymore until after we move. I know it's not financially the best option but I want to put any spare money (which would normally be our OP) into savings so I can see it as the 10% deposit for when we move. I can't actually explain why I want to do this but hubby does as well. We are a strange pair. I think we just actually want to have some money rather than a reduced debt.

I suppose it's like when you have lots of debt with varying interest rates, sometimes you want to completely pay off a smaller debt that has a lower rate, rather than chip away at the largest debt with a big rate.

I just wanted to say that I am really sorry for not commenting on peoples diaries, I do read lots of them but like to read so many I don't have time to reply.

Which car boots do you do? I like the mad mile one the best.
Yay to 5 figure mortgage and to those with 6 figures at least you have a decent house for it hopefully :) I would love a bigger house too but am content at the moment.
As for the kitchen, I keep saying about decorating ours as its a bit dark but its just the thought of starting it that puts me off :(

I do know where you are coming from on the savings front v OPs. You will need money to deposit and you know that you can restart again when you are in your lovely new home. Whereabouts are you thinking of moving too?

  • Holcot is my favourite one, we go nearly every week in the summer just to look around! I've never been to Mad Mile for no particular reason. On Sundays we would go to Wicksteeds so the boys can have a play. I have a car load of stuff in my mums garage. I was already for a sale towards the end of the season, and then it rained so I didn't bother.

We are just going to go bigger locally, so the boys can stay at their schools. We'll probably end up on one of the newer estates around the outskirts.

Are you free anytime next week Pam?
