  • I am sure Amazon have someone who spends all day checking forums and competitors prices! Someone has just posted a link and it is already back up at the previous price!

    FiFi :)
I'm sure too because I have seen it happen so many times in here.:)

Do you think they may sell a few 'at a loss' to get buyers in and the others that come in after the rise think 'oh well I am here now, it is not such a bad price, I will buy from amazon anyway?' There must be some psychology to it somewhere:rotfl: it always works on the 342 even though many a person has said they either reduce the content or up the price to balance out the 342 so we the customer are the looser.

They put the lovely smells of fresh bread in the supermarkets to keep you buying and soft music to make you stay but they can't do that on cyberspace:rotfl::rotfl:they have to have a way of luring us in

Me too, the night of sainsburys sale amazon reduced almost everything sainsburys website sells, then pulled their sale first thing the next morning. Its like they knew the sale was due to start, had a list of items ready to go half price at the same time and then when they realised no competition they put it back up. Maybe we should start a false half price lego sale thread for a competitor website, then amazon will follow suit and we can grab a bargain!! :D

I know it's not actual Lego but it might help someone - I bought some sets , last year from wilkos called click bricks. It is compatible with Lego and identical, although the kits are perhaps not as detailed. It is however far far cheaper.
They have the police station on offer at the moment for £12 which is good value for what you get.
So if your child isn't fussed for the actual Lego name, or funds are tight this year they are a good alternative option.

    Xmas Saver!
There are various sites that i use that have information about lines and themes that lego are discontinuing.

There is a whole new police theme for 2011, due out mid december i think, so maybe some of the police sets like 7744 may be on offer at argos/tru etc. The city farm sets are also due to be replaced by a city space port theme.

The green grocer set is also going to be discontinued in 2011 so i would suggest anyone interested buy it before they end up on ebay for £300

have now given up smoking since feb 13th 2014 loving the money I'm saving

would not pay a penny for that rubbish, Son got one last year and had to super glue it all together, Blocks are poor quality and do not stick, I would stay well away from this stuff!!

Yes we got loads from sainsburys and the amazon sale the other morning just keep the thread checking for other reductions like on the fire station or the airplane, the big box sets really, the little ones have been reduced in the 1/2 price sale as you say but not the big sets:D

If I had to pay full price for it all there would have been no way he got the house, the police truck was not even on his list:rotfl: the one he wanted the limo and helicopter I got back in september from tesco along with the camper van so could have been officially sorted was it not for these threads:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
