Just popped on for a moan - have just heard that my employers are looking to lose 800-1,000 non-school jobs as a result of council funding cuts.

Normal service will resume when I have inhaled a large glass of vino tinto.

I was so tired this afternoon I was very tempted not to go to the hospital, however I pulled myself together and went.

OH was asleep when I got there, he said he had been dizzy this morning but not the usual dizzy. I sat down and shortly afterwards a Dr came in and started talking about his arm, they have now decided that it is a trapped nerve and he has to see his GP, she then said she was writing his letter.....what letter???? Oh your discharge letter......discharge? yes you can go!! OH said that he had specifically asked for transprt home....too late to do it today so he is coming home tomorrow.

I stayed just over half and hour, brought most of his stuff home with me, called at Aldi for some groceries, I will not have to go shopping for at least 2 -3 weeks.

I have put the radiator on in our room, I am staying in the guest room for a few nights to allow him to get some decent nights sleep, he will not be getting woken up at 6am here!!

So now my job begins, getting him back on his feet it will take time. He has been told that if he gets the runs again he has to go straight to the hospital.

I will be going to bed early tonight to get a decent nights sleep myself, tomorrow is going to be a busy day.

  • Make sure you DO take care of yourself tonight Csarina, glad he is getting home, but I hope its not too soon, and at a cost to your own health. Big hug being flung over from Glasgow, make sure you catch it xxx

Csarina, mind you look after yourself too or you will be no help to your OH.

Well done JC - crossing my fingers for you!

csarina - I echo what the others say. You'll be no good to your OH if you don't look after yourself too x

    Evening all,

Ruby....so sorry to hear that your dad has had another fall....hugs to you all.

Bitsy...hope that you are feeling better now.

Csarina....please look after yourself, OH will be fine with his own bed to sleep in and some nice food inside him, hope you sleep well to-night.

Rain all day here, went shopping in both Aldi and Lidl, still have to go to butcher, but should not really need much for at least a week or two.

Not thinking about what I was doing some weeks ago, I put a large bag of mackerel and pollock into the freezer without separating them out, took them out this morning, we had 4 mackerel for dinner, have 2 more that I cooked with them, am going to try some pate to-morrow. Will have to pickle the 10 fish still left and will use the pollock to make a fish pie with some smoked salmon and frozen prawns, that can then go in freezer for next week....such an idiot!

DD4 had her inspector's visit to-day (which she missed when she was ill), she was happy enough with the way it went, her department seems to have had a good result.

Can't for the life of me find the record book that OH has for his Warfarin, I know I picked it up to bring home from Kerry, but it seems to have disappeared into thin air. Its not a huge deal but am annoyed that I can't find it.

Hugs to all in need or want, welcome to any newbies

    Evening all

late one from me, not been very OS in the past 2 days

Don't know if I posted it at the time but my mum was in hosp due to not being able to pass urine, was a couple of months ago, she spent a week being catheterised, given ABs sent home, ok, no further treatment.

Well she was taken in Monday, sent home at 10.30 at night, taken back in today, sent home afternoon, has now got cathereter for at least two weeks, then they will do some tests to find out why?!!!!!!

She is also undergoing stuff to do with low blood count and has to learn to inject herself every fortnight with iron injections. This has not started yet, she had phone call this after, after she got back from hospital to make appointment so nurse can show her how to do it.

Sorry, this is so NOT os, and I admit I am a wayward poster, but feeling very so far away from her tonight...am going down to visit this weekend not told her as I may have to 'tweak' a day off work for the Friday,

Usual day to day stuff, have swished and swiped like a good 'un, nothing like bad news to keep you awake at night, also hit the ironing mountain, batch baked enough mince to keep a platoon

Don't usually like to ask for anything, but can I have one of your dodgy hugs please, I don't have friends up here, only work colleagues and OH has been away since Saturday, feeling a bit lonely
whoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

    Stopped smoking 20:30 28/09/11 :D
