Oh forgot the one mega treat on makeup that I really liked. I got organised and got some makeup brushes, I really like them and the effect they give. Lipstick brush especially really makes a difference.0

Good evening guys,
look at me I'm in bed already :rotfl:
Had a decent day at work - no dramas & managed to have a good sort through messages & paperwork.
Not much home-job work to do & DD wanted pasta & sauce for a meal so that was easy - it was a large jar of sauce so I've saved half for another meal & made sure I weighed the pasta so we had the right amount, rather just throwing it in & ending up with too much which I then feel obliged to eat so it doesnt go to waste
I am enjoying being frugal but am missing having lots of fresh fruit, veg & also nuts & salady stuff. Carbs may be cheap but I'm beginning to feel a bit sluggish & bloated.
I completed the superfit workout & then had a lovely long soak in the bath with a book. I'm not sure whether I confessed earlier or not, but I have used my amazon vouchers to order some new yoga dvds. I'm out of the habit of getting up early to do half an hour as I'm staying up so late I cannot drag myself out of bed in the morning.
So in answer to your question Bob - my early nights will be in bed with lights off by midnight on a school night.
Se999 - you got cupcakes with your makeover ? I am so envious, must check out if my local Body Shop is having any similar events. I have always used a lipbrush as it does work better & you get to scoop out the remains of the product that's hidden but recently have been using their sheer colour lip sticks thingies. I find them realy moisturising but the colour isnt too overpowering - got a couple for £3 each in the sale.
NSD all day, done a couple of surveys & had an email to say the lovely red shoes have been received & a refund on its way.
Right, I'm off for a quick sniff around the diaries & then off to bed ... 53 minutes til lights off :rotfl:

OH & DS1 got the yummy cupcakes with my makeover, they looked really nice, M&S ones with fresh strawberried on top. They did appreciate them
The carbs making you sluggish isn't fun. I have a problem with wheat and gluten, it turns me into superslug!!
Hope your new yoga dvds are good, you'll have to let us know.0 -
I'd miss fruit and veg too, Lula - I'm dreadful at using fresh, but its a lot better with frozen (must use up what I've got, must use up what I've got).
Hope today goes well.

Amazingly, I've had another NSD. Mainly because I couldnt remember why on earth I though we had to go to the shops so we didnt bother.
Work was fine today - Gropey boss out all day which helps & Grumpy brought the dog in so that's always fun. Goblin seems to be on the turn again, made a few snippy comments so I'm guessing her hormones are raging again.
I'm feeling so full of buzz & positivity that I refuse to let it bother me. I was up at 6.30 & managed 20 minutes of yoga stretches & this evening we played on the wii dance for an hour.
I'm looking forward to the new yoga dvds tooI was originally just replacing my Barbara Currie one that's so old it's a video :rotfl: but amazon were offering a deal on buying another 2 so I thought I might as well. I'll definitely report back once they arrive & I've tried them.
I dont think I have any particular intolerance to wheat or gluten - one of my nieces has full blown coeliacs & I know just how awkward it can be to just eat a simple meal - but I have this feeling of not really eating 'clean' food at the moment, just feel a bit bleurgh. How do you manage your diet se999 ? Do you use substitutes such as corn pasta & spelt bread or just eat a more paleo type of food ?
My knee seems to be a bit better now so tomorrow I'm going to brave the evil weights workout _pale_.
Off to bed now so I can be up bright eyed & bushy tailed in the morning
G'night

Hi Lula,
I normally avoid the cake and bisucits without too much of a problem.
For savories at home I normally cook from scratch, I use the Tesco Free From pasta sometimes, but mainly use lots of different rices (it's amazing the number of different varieties, colours and textures), polenta, quinoa as well as the standards of potatos (Using them mixed with root veggies or sweet potatoes for variety).
Only real problems are when you're out and about. Lots of places only do bread based snacks. Tesco's etc seem to always add croutons or pasta or the latest is couscous to nearly all of their snack salads. Italian restaurants are out unless they do risotto's or salads, so normally avoid them too.
I think I also eat more fresh salads and other veggies, so it's normally a moderate to low carb diet anyway.
I am Ok with small quantities/occasional treats, but know if I've been silly and overdone it fairly quickly!!!0 -
Thanks for that useful info Se
Unfortunately I love bread; baguettes, rustiques, grand mange, ciabatta, pitta the whole lot. I'm not actually too fond of the daily sliced loaf since money saving forced me to give up the gorgeous organic whole grain + country-farmhouse-&-all-surrouding-acreage type bread. It's probably about £2 a loaf these days :rotfl:.
I actually like ryvita a lot & will happily eat those. The last 2 weeks of store cupboard meals has pretty much decimated my fondness for pasta so I'm keen to try out other fillers & you've given me plenty of ideas :T. I wont pretend I'm giving up my homemade bakes but if I could keep to just having 'speciality' type breads at the weekend for a treat it will probably help.
I've been a bit naughty & will probably get told off by someone but I think honesty is the best policy. I loathe that giant slowcooker  - it makes me angry just looking at it, so ... I used some of my personal gift money to buy a new smaller one. A far wiser investment than a pair of red shoes for which I have now been fully refunded
It's really cute; the perfect size for DD & I as our mini freezer doesnt lend itself to much batch cooking & it came with a little booklet of recipes which we are itching to try. Yes, I now have a redundant 3.5 litre slow cooker which has been used just once. If any of you lovely people feel you might be able to use it then pm me your details & I will gladly wrap, box & send it to you
.
I still cant think why I felt the need to go to the shops yesterday, so we havent been today either which means another NSD. There are but 3 slices of bread left, but that's plenty for DD's breakfast & tea tomorrow.
I've taken the decision to do the big grocery & household shop on friday. DD has an inset day & she's great at doing the huge shop as she gets fed up very quickly & wont let me buy anything we dont need just to get out of the shop quicker :rotfl:.
I dont think I'll get paid until monday & I cant face shopping after work & home-jobs on monday, tuesday or wednesday _pale_ so I'll either use the CC or temporarily transfer cash from the saving funds account & repay as soon as wages hit my account.
It may be wimping out, but we have only one piece of fruit left & a handful of frozen veg. The jam, peanut butter, beans, soups, rice & meat supplies are all gone. I need clean food & DD needs packed lunch stuff for next week. I'll stock up on all the household stuff we need too; washing powder, essential toiletries etc, will fuel up at the same time & then that'll be Tatco done for a couple of months.
Pitiful home-job wage this week, not enough to cover funds, so need to work out what to leave out this time.
I'm off to do the evil weights workout now so will update with more news later ...0 -
It's always feels awful when running out of stuff but good idea to stock up once every couple of months...I so hate big supermarkets. You've done great with using everything up and your NSDs0
