Lady, I think you're right about the allotment. It sounds like quite a faff.

That is a hell of a money to spend on shopping ;) and makes me look quite good :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I loved the Lovely Bones as a book but can't do scary type films or progs as I live alone and would be 'loony hunting' under beds and in cupboards all the time :rotfl:

Away to look at budgets. The fun never ends X

    Hi Karma,

yes, the film was great, although a bit moral & schmaltzy in that disney way, but the 3D was great - I even ducked a couple of times & it was fun to be out after dark :D

We ended up going to the later screening as I was on a mission to cleanse & purify the home. all the windows were flung open, every surface washed - even the front door both inside & out. Swept the outsdie steps down & tried to stuff all the plastic & cardboard recycling in the box. I think they may be in for a shock when they realise just how much I have to get rid of.

I didnt get around to to the yoga or baking & cooking before we went out so I'm now in the kitchen with Nina Simone & some rock cakes for Grumpy in the oven & am about to make the chessy potato corn bake for tomorrow's supper. Against DDs wishes I'm determined to alternate meat & veggie meals. I had eggs to use up before the 1st Feb -hence the rock cakes - & the cheesy bake needs one so we can have the slow cooked sausage casserole on tuesday.

Need to check the finances & hopefully make a payment to CC later on, but must get this meal done first.

    Back later ...

ETA - Souk, the films not scary for adults, more horror in an emotional way & particulalry speaking from a mother of 2 daughters point of view. It really is a beautiful film so I would seriously recommend watching it. It has the Wahlberg blokeie in it fi that helps at all ;)

Lula, I don't do ANY kind of film that would scare/frighten me even thriller types. I am a big scaredy and wouldn't sleep!!!

    Enjoy Ms Simone X

    Ok,

it's the usual late sunday night/early monday morning post from me to declare my latest debt repayment. Drum roll ... and this week it's another £125 bringing the total outstanding to £2375.

I have to be very very strict again this month as half term is looming which means £120 in childminding fees. Would love not to at work home-job but cant afford it so will just have to get on with it.

I've already updated my 'whats the cost' account & it absolutely sickens me to see that I paid £700 to the CC in December - just imagine what I could have done with that sort of money, if I didnt have the debt. It's odd how the closer I get to being DF the more outraged I am at the money wasted & more determined I am to never ever get myself in that situation again. I didnt feel like that a year ago :o.

I'm starting to have savings ideas drift in & out of my mind but must keep focused for now.

I've made the dinner for tomorrow night so wont have to worry about that when I get in from work which will be a joy. I will need to do a workout & also prep everything for the next days meal.

I'm stealing/borrowing Shoe Gals plan for February being all about diet, health & exercise. I also need to keep a very strict eye on the grocery spends. I recounted my Tatco spending horror & the Grocery part of it came to £64.43 so not too bad so far.

Today was a NSD as the cinema tickets - £18.50  came out of the treats fund & DD insisted on buying her own sweets out of her pocket money. Next weekend we'll do something really cheap; there's a museum near that we havent been to yet so might try that.

I'm not organised for Freedom Monday so need to come up with an outfit that's different from the normal work stuff I wear  difficult when not much fits.

Should be another NSD tomorrow :)

    G'night
    xx

I know what you mean about being outraged the closer you get to debt freedom - we probably can't *afford* to let ourselves think about that when we're really in it - in history classes at poly., I learned to call it "the revolution of rising expectations" - when you're really down, all you think about is survival, thats all that matters. When you start to be on the up, thats when you get really discontented...... seems to work for individuals as well as societies!

    Here endeth the lesson, sorry!

That's a great way of putting it KC :D

    Absolutely agree there :T

I'm just popping in to say that I think I've been invaded & my body & mind taken over by aliens.

I had an ok day at work - wearing my 'Freedom Monday' outfit so quite pleased about that. Saw Gropey Boss was heading towards a tantrum & managed to soothe him into calling a staff meeting instead so he could air his grievances, then sent him off to the sandwich shop for a bit of fresh air to clear his head & destress him.

Poured as much free caffeine down my throat as I could take without having to pop to the arctic loo every 5 minutes. Fed Grumpy some rock cakes to keep him on side & left the tin on my desk for him to help himself. Discovered that I did have 2 days pay docked for taking time off to nurse DD, cant complain but I had forgotten & could have done with the full whack this month, but never mind.

Came home & had ryvita for tea & ignored the bread & peanut butter & chocolate spread ( both own brand & half the price of usual stuff) then got on with home-job work. Hardly any again but not concenred as i got so many other things done.

It was great to take the meal I made yesterday out of the fridge & just fling it in the oven. I also prepared the slow cooker meal for tomorrow nights meal & that is now marinating in the fridge. I am a teeny weeny bit excited about this as you can probably tell. Cant wait to throw it in the pot tomorrow, switch on & go out off to work knowing that I odnt have to cook when I get in :D.

I've done the Evil Weights Workout, then had a soak in the bath with a magazine. This morning's weigh in showed a total loss of just 2lbs since new year - which means I've lost half what I put on over festive feasting season & am back on track. I still have another 18lbs to shed though, but the girls on the clothes challenge are really inspiring me to keep going as I'll need those extra clothes to keep up with all these freedom days :)

Another NSD means I've scored my best ever result of 21 days, so all things considered I declare January a success :j

    Bedtime now
    xx
