    love those shoes Lula..how lovely.

Am impressed with your efforts with cooking..your meals sound scrummy.

Lula, if you want to 'beef up' sauces, a teaspoon of marmite does the trick. Don't know why it works as it's veggie though. I normally can't stand marmite, but I do keep some in the fridge just for that. It's pretty good on upping the B vitamins too.

Agreed, the debt busting and working with the grocery budget is brilliant - good for you!

Inheritance - the most I've inherited is the odd £50 when grandparents have died. There's been no money in our family! My business partner has inherited money in the saddest of ways - from relatives he never knew about, on a different continent - he's Jewish, and the family was blown all over the world by the Second World War, and never got back together - its only when lawyers got involved that the tracing was possible. Hopefully none of us will ever go through that again ...

Anyway, Lula - have a good day today, come back with Tales Of The Office :)

    Right ladies,

today has been rather uneventful in our Grompany. Aquaplaned into work doing a steady 15mph all the way, refusing to go fast enough to necessitate braking & therefore burning unnecessary fuel. Annoyed that it was necessary to have both lights & huffer & rear window 'lines' on as they dont actually increase distance travelled, just use more fuel :(

For the first time ever, I realised that the downpipe from the work roof doesnt go into a drain; it just gushes out on to the drive. Right outside the door, so that a person who choses to wear suede boots & insists on holding an umbrella & a bag whilst trying to punch in the code is likely to get very wet feet indeed.

This wont matter much though as the minute that person gets inside the door they will be greeted enthusiastically by being leapt at & pawed all over. Dear old Grumpy must have missed me :rotfl: not really, it was the dog who lavished his soggyness on me ;)

Gropey was out most of the day, but did pop in for half an hour at lunchtime, just long enough to enquire how l was getting on with his stock list & for me to tell him that I would be busy at the time of next years stock take :p.

Grumpy & I usually have mondays to ourselves & we each look forward to swapping tales of past exploits so it was a bit disapointing to see the Goblin on her perch but her OH was having an op so I think she wanted to be kept busy in between running him to hopsital & collecting him.

Grumpy asked if he has seen me on some new dating show at the weekend & it hadnt done much for his blood pressure as there were loads of young girls not wearing much. I advised him against opening my fab new red shoe parcel if they arrived while I was out, as they would certainly raise his blood pressure ;).

The car swam home & I discovered a fair amount of home-job work to be done but felt rather smug knowing that I didnt have to do anything more strenuous for dinner than pop our tasty leftovers in the microwave :D. And wow, they were so tasty. DD finished all the curry & as there was lots of rice left I had some with the chilli sauce veggie casserole & it was a very satisfying meal.

We'll probably have a lazy pasta & sauce meal tomorrow & then on wednesday I'll go the shop to get some potatoes so we can jackets with beans & cheese.

I did the superfit workout & really glowed :o. Much as I enjoy the evil weights workout, I'm too scared of damaging my knees after the last time, it still aches when driving so will concentrate on the cardio for now. I'm being a bit strict with food this week too as I was a bit naughty last week - too many home baked items were consumed & I've regained those 2lbs .

I'm not eating any cakes or biscuits & saving all the bread for DD & just having ryvitas which I actually really like, especially when slathered in buttery stuff. We dont have any choc in the house & I'm actually ok with that as I cannot resist it.

Must get to bed now; I need to tackle Highly Annoying tomorrow as he's been avoiding tasks again so he either needs to shape up or I'll be requesting his salary :p

    G'night

Sounds like a lovely day at the office..lol

don't blame you not keeping chocolate in...I'm the same as in no control.
  • Morning Lula,

Well done on the cooking/debt busting and shoe buying.

Blah to the rain, it did rain rather a lot didn't it? Hopefully today won't be as bad.

With regards to your office job, do you do that full time or part time? What do you do regarding school holidays? I'm asking as I'm trying to figure out whether a full time job is worthwhile now my two are settled in school and paying for childcare.

    Have a good day today.

    Tea

I'm uncertain about the benefits of a car learning to swim :D

And I'm another one who can't keep chocolate in the house - there was a Green and Black dark mint bar here a few days ago. It is an ex-bar.....
