If that's his normal behaviour then just be strong and have the christmas you want next year. You're entitled to do what you want. There's no pleasing some older folks.
how awful that ex bf is stalking DD1..if he gets troublesome you'll need to report him to the police..the creep.0 -
XBF has previously been reported ( boring details on previous threads - makeup was first one to pm me details of how to get him dealt with - your support & kindness not forgotten :A ).
It took about 2 years to finally get rid of him & I had to leave the country for a while too.
It all seems so long ago now& DD1 has just ignored him, clearly he's short of friends :rotfl:
I just want these tiresome men off my shiny new thread, clearly they havent fully understood the title, although I did notice the other day that one of the * s seems to have gone missing
We're going to see Gullivers travels tomorrow& after much research I've decided not to sign up to become a 'friend' of local theatre; turns out that the £5 off tickets deals is only for certain weeknight performances, never at weekends which is when we would want to go. That's another £30 saved then

XBF sounds awful....never knew what you went through as have only read your diary since meeting you...so don't know the earlier ones.0

You've had a lucky escape then Taxi -
they were a bit rubbish, full of drama & not much debt busting. I'm much more 'together' now & actually making progress with money too0 -
Sounds like you've made loads of progress then...well done0
-
I agree with Taxi, I can't imagine the Lula I 'know' putting up with any carp. You've come a long way (baby)'The road to a friends house is never long'0

Thirded - and how unpleasant its temporarily reared its head again, grrrrrrr.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Rant away lovey. Next year I think you should answer 'We're doing some serious festering' when the family ask what you and the girls are doing for Xmas. For this to work you have to say it as though festering is a hobby like cooking or knitting. He'll soon back off!!!

Blimey, poor DD1, that doesn't sound good. And poor you and your sis, coping with your dad - you were in his house, and he just went off to take his mother home without telling you how long he was going to be gone? Huh? If he doesn't get the problem with that, then you're not really going to get through to him at all
which is such a shame.
!
You have my sympathy Lula - my Dad can be a bit like this! I am lucky to have my Mum, who is great, but my dad can be really odd. I go most Sundays and he hardly speaks to me! In fact I went a couple of weeks ago and my Mum had gone to my sisters, he left me sat on my own for an hour until she got back!!!Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
It must be a 'dad' thing then Shoesy. My mum was also fab, a great cook, hostess & always welcoming & charming even when she didnt really like someone. I have yet to master a lot of those qualities :rotfl:
Anyway, it appears my words to him yesterday did have some effect; he sent a text to both lil sis & myself this morning to say he was sorry we'd had to leave so early & lil sis sent a reply which kind of backed up my take on the events but in a more diplomatic way.
Thanks Souk - I have indeed come along way & there'll be no going back. I am a force to be reckoned with these days :rotfl:
I have done a workout this morning & made sure I did the full set of stretches afterwards, then had a bath & am not so stiff & achey. So glad I seem to have somehow got myself into the habit of doing them as I really do feel so much better for it. I'm trying to have a bit of a detox for the next 3 days; they should always be done when there's not much energy demanded & today we're pottering & then off to the cinema, tomorrow will be all about waiting in for my new slowcooker (delivery between 7am & 6pm), setting up the new clothes challenge _pale_ & doing some washing & then friday we're off to the cinema again & may wander into a shop or two as DD has giftcards to spend. I'm saving mine.
If you havent already come across it, do read the thread 'Buyers camped in my garden over christmas' over on the house buying, renting & selling board. It is so funny, I've been following it for a few days now - almost as good as the dead dog thread.
Havent learnt how to post a link on this lappy yetbut worth a quick search :rotfl:
