Whereabouts are you aching, Lula? I suspect its normal exercise related.

I just felt really stiff all over, but fairly sure it was due to spending too much time reading in bed. When DD finally emerged, she complained of exactly the same thing :rotfl:

I'm feeling far better now & thanks to my Dad turning up unexpectedly & expecting tea earlier on, I had to do some more wii fit to stress relieve again.

    Rant Warning :

Dad really is unbelievable , he was really blooming grumpy, unwelcoming & argumentative on boxing day. Today, when he expressed disappointment that we'd gone early, I said that apart from the fact that he'd left to take Grandmother & Intl Rellies home without even telling us he was going or when he expected to be back, we'd felt unwelcome & awkward anyway. He said that was rubbish & I should just get over it :mad:.

I never just turn up at his house & expect him to make me tea, so I think it's really bluddy arrogant of him to have been so rude at his house when we were actually invited to be there & to then just arrive at mine without invitation or warning & expect me to just drop whatever I'm doing to make tea for him. Grrrrrrrrrrrr.

What really gets to me is that I'm sure I've previously posted an almost identical scenario

Well, next year I'm staying home & my sis can have the pleasure :D

The good news is that my wii fit age has reduced dramatically to 41 ... the bad news is that I've gained another 2lbs

    Souk -

shovelling booze, cheese & crackers has become a daily event here :)

I'm just eyeing up the mini chocolate yule logs & wondering whether to just get on with dipping them in Baileys & to hell with it !!

Taxi - yes, my poor mouth muscles are in agony from all the extra chewing they've undertaken ;). Roll ( unintentional pun there) on sunday & let the fast begin

Rant away lovey. Next year I think you should answer 'We're doing some serious festering' when the family ask what you and the girls are doing for Xmas. For this to work you have to say it as though festering is a hobby like cooking or knitting. He'll soon back off!!!

Is your dad a bit depressed or is it normalish behaviour for him? I suppose christmas stresses people out in different ways

Oh Lula, how annoying!!! i'm grr on your behalf :mad:

Still I quite agree you've totally earned the right to have a home Christmas next year with the DD's. Sounds fab!!!

Make sure you get this in early so that no one is expecting you to be slaving over a hot stove or anything or driving hither and thither over the countryside.

My Xmas was good, really busy and knackering though but I loved it all!

My nieces are soooo cute and were a lot of fun. So funny how much my 3 1/2 yr niece has picked up from her mother, I suggested moving seats on the bus so we could sit on the front seat and I was tartly informed that we couldn't go 'chopping and changing' .......

We ended up in A&E on Xmas Day though  my sister suspected that my niece had a nut allergy and this was confirmed after she had some pistachios. In our defence, she'd had pistachios before but apparently this can happen where the allergy doesn't kick in straight away.

Luckily for us, this wasn't the 'real' Xmas Day (well in our household anyway) and the nurses at the hospital clicked really quickly when we explained it was in fact Xmas Eve! She recovered really quickly and was back to normal in no time once they'd dosed her with piriton although she did look awful when the reaction took hold!

It was surprising how well the whole Faux Xmas thing went, it seemed like the real day and we had a fab time and I got some lovely presents.

Can't belive it is all over although it is lovely to be back in my flat on my own and not having to jump up to cook more stuff (although I loved all the cooking and don't regret a thing of it).

Time for a 2011 plan, I think I'm aiming for lots of crafty stuff this year and some frugal living!

And I had a job interview before Xmas (still waiting to hear - boo!) and that crystalised my plans to look for a promotion, I am starting to get a bit bored with my current job and would love to earn more cash!!!!
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

I dont think he's depressed Taxi - just very wrapped up in his own interests & doesnt take much notice of anything else.

He's always been like it & it really hacks me off when he's downright rude to people. He's so superior & condescending at times & the only way I can cope with it is to just distance myself for a while. It's not just me, my sis gets really fed up too when he's difficult & didnt speak to him for months last year. I'm sure I ranted on previous threads about him so wont go on about it here.

Spoke to DD1 earlier & she was utterly incensed that xbf ( he of the crazy mother & stalkerish behaviour ) had tried to befriend her on facebook . It's the second of my exes who has approached her & I think she now understands why I dont do facebook :o.

    Bluddy blokes eh :p

Yay to fabby christmas makeup :) Glad to hear that nieces allergy was dealt with. I always carry piriton with me since DD had her allergic reaction to unknown stuff a couple of years back. It's quite frightening to watch the reaction progress.

Good plan on travel lodges for meet up, I will need to think ahead a bit for weekends as will need to bribe DD1 to do overnight stay with DD. Unless I can persuade her to go to Guide camp ;)

Health & Frugality are key words for 2011 :D

Blimey, poor DD1, that doesn't sound good. And poor you and your sis, coping with your dad - you were in his house, and he just went off to take his mother home without telling you how long he was going to be gone? Huh? If he doesn't get the problem with that, then you're not really going to get through to him at all :( which is such a shame.

And your stiffness, Lula - I'm sure thats the stuff my ballet teacher talked about - "if it hurts, do it till it doesn't hurt" - that sort of thing :rotfl: you're fine!

And I'm up for a meet too!
