:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I hate Wii Fit  I don't have one but my niece and nephew do - it told me I am obese

How rude  As well as having advanced ageing syndrome I've been told that my centre of gravity is along way from where it should be. Well, no !!!!!! Sherlock, I've never been exactly what you call 'grounded' :rotfl:

Anyway, I woke up this morning to find the snow had been replaced with rain so that's good news. The temperature must have risen by about 10 degrees as well so I flung open all the windows to let some lovely fresh air in & then did a Davina workout :j. I know it will take while to get back to where I was weight-wise but I've really had enough of sweet stuff so am happy to just keep exercising until all the cheese has gone & then only buy properly healthy food for a while. I'm actually craving salad but refuse to spend money when we have plenty of food in the home.

I've checked my emails & have received a £3 paypal payment for completing a survey & am ignoring & deleting all the emails telling me about sales :(.

I've also made a large payment to the CC :j I had some money for my laptop stashed away in an account & as my CC is 0% I was going to just keep it stashed until the 0% runs out. However, as I said yesterday, I'm bored now & feel that the end really is in sight with the card & just want to clear it asap.

There are already 2 fairly expensive items I'd like to buy next year ( cooker & sofa) but I plan to save for them as quickly as possible & then come 2012 the serious saving can begin. Camper vans, holidays, boats etc etc :D

So, Virgin CC now has a balance of £3,000

I have 17 weeks to clear it by my target date ... bring it on :D

I love the way you manage to do a serious amount of exercise in amongst everything else. Hope DD has beaten off the vampires and emerged ....

DD emerged for a cup of tea & handful of biscuits & has since retreated again. I dont mind, she's reading, resting & I get to hog the tv :D.

It's funny about the exercise Karma - I actually find it really helpful to combat the annoyance of work & there are actually very few things I want to watch on tv during the week. I have also recognised that I find the time to do them because I am single & dont go out much in the evenings :o. It suits me during the week, to do home-job work, then do the workout & then have a bath & read in bed.

Of course, once I am superly fabulously fit I will have divine gentleman clamouring for my time & attention, wanting to wine & dine me & spoil me with weekends away & city breaks so I really must make the most of my time while I can :rotfl:

I'm actually feeling really stiff all over today so think the time may have come when I need to take some kind of cod liver oil type thing :(

    Any suggestions ?

No suggestions but a thought I have been having. I suffer from arthritis in my hand, especially in Winter (and it runs in my family) so I often think I should take some sort of bone/joint supplement but don't really know what???

There isn't much on tv is there? I would watch it, because I'm ill, but I'd rather be on here! And you have DD, and you're on your own - of course you don't have a scintillating social life :kisses3: but you know, debt free is within your grasp, DD is getting older, the opportunities will be there really soon. And in the meantime, exercise is well-recognised for its stress relief properties - and to get something healthy that relieves stress (unlike fags and all the rest of it) is brilliant :j

Stiffness - it depends what sort of stiffness. When I was at ballet school, if we started moaning that we were stiff, the answer was "do it again until you don't feel stiff any more" :D. Are you exercising more? You certainly need to look after your nutrition if you are. Water - ridiculous but true, seeing as our bodies are 65 - 80% water, and 3% dehydration leads to a 20% drop in concentration ability. More protein is important if you're toning up, because you're creating muscle - not like the bodybuilders, but even so. The essential fatty acids and monounsaturated fats are good, and you should be having 5 - 7 portions of fruit and veg a day. In practice, all that means oily fish.lean meat, avocadoes, olives, peanuts. I can never choose the right avocadoes, so I use avocado oil and drizzle it on stuff. And I eat tesco value roast peanuts (salt doesn't bother me, I have *low* blood pressure). Fruit and veg: bananas, pears, peppers, beetroot, onion, you name it, its good for you.

Supplements especially re. arthritis: I'm taking vegetarian glucosamine, and I'm ordering msm (can't remember what it stands for, but its important, sorry). Cod liver oil is good for non-vegetarians. Take a multivitamin rather than separate vitamin supplements - I take one thats also a multimineral, and has a probiotic component too. My health is *not* an advert for this stuff, I only started after I'd seen that herbalist mid December, and it takes a while to work through you - like organic gardening takes a while to work through to the plants.

    Sorry for the lecture :o

    Hmmmm,

I dont really know what arthritis feels like ( sorry for being so ignorant) or whether it is connected to rheumatism, or rheumatoid arthirits ? :o but I know that my dad has one or other & is on daily doses of glucosamine & my grandmother takes daily cod liver oil & swears that it keep her joints supple & keeps her generally healthy, she is 96 & although becoming forgetful & rather fanciful at times, she's fit as flea & can still touch her toes so there must be something in it.

I've never taken anything other than mega vitamin c doses when under threat of a cold or iron tablets when I was carrying DD so havent got a clue where to start with supplements ? Off to find out about arthritis & rheumatism now.

By the way, I've just used my £10 argos voucher to buy a slow cooker ... only cost me £5.96 including delivery :j. I now fully expect to be able hack at some veg with a knife in the morning & then come home to delicious hot meal at might.

*Wonders if it has dishy butler recipe ;)*

I now have £274 left for January.

Thanks for all the health & supplements info KC :A

I think the stiffness may be due to not exercising for a few days & a day or so spent lounging about probably didnt help either :o. Will just keep on going & make sure I do the warm ups properly. Apart from the last few days, my diet is usually pretty good; I love fruit & veg; avocadoes are one of my favourites & yay for an excuse to eat a handful of peanuts every day too.

I drink a lot of water & peppermint tea & havent had a coffee for 2 days now either :j. will see what the evil PT has to say tonight.

    xx

Hi love, well done on the excercise and debt busting. I have been an absolute lazy cow this month, unless shovelling crackers and cheese/booze in counts as exercise. Mind you I am on my feet all day in the shop. Going to enjoy New Year and then get into swimming and do the evil diet for Jan. Like you I have eaten so much that I am actually looking forward to 'clean' food.

Re the lack of a social life, as KC says it wont be long til you're beating them off with a stick. X
